The Guide has been updated:**Added since last update**Added explanation of Cast-Through Added 8.1 Your U.I. Setup Added info. to 10.0 Where to Hunt? Added info. to Method and Technique./bugged Knight's Stance. It does not appear to make a difference in the damage we take. **I can't seem to edit my original post to show the update, so I posted here. Mods, please let me know if there is a means for me to edit, or if this is the proper way to show the updates.**Thanks!

I just thought of something else that would be useful in the guide. For you, the biggest non-intuitive spell related piece of information I can think of is that your ward, Demonstration of Faith, generates big aggro. I use it as the first spell cast on a pull, ahead of even Inflame. The mobs will stick to you, and if your group acts appropriately they will stay there the whole fight if you do keep hitting Inflame when it lights. All the best!

Grouping as an Off-TankAn off-tank is a fighter class that is not currently playing the role of main tank. Paladins were built, in my humble opinion, to be the best off-tank there is.As an off-tank, your job is to watch for mobs that are attacking anyone BUT the main tank. The second you see a group member taking a beating you need to peel that mob from them by warding them, taunting it, and getting it focused on you by any means necessary.Your secondary job is to make the main tank stronger, and this is where we shine. You can ward the main tank, give them your AC, give them Vigor of Trust, etc., all which make them a stronger front line of defense.

Don't mean to be difficult, but in my experience the best bet for an offtank is to avoid taking aggro -- if aggro flip-flops, it's handy to have only your main tank trying to get Aggro back because he's going to be the closest one to the top of the mobs hate list Ideally. The healing/buffing and damaging role of the paladin makes us wicked offtanks too But after playing EQ1 for long time, I've been of the opinion that it's best to just let the MainTank worry about aggro, and have everyone focus on getting the MainAssist's mob dead as fast as possible. ~Slissik, unrest
Message Edited by kazekaje on 12-01-2004 01:20 PM
