<DIV>Hi.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I just became a Paladin. Apparently there are quests to get some pieces of heavy armor and I am looking forward to doing them all. But I'd be surprised if one could fully equip in Heavy Armor + new 1-Hander and Shield all through questing. Can someone please tell me what pieces of armor I won't be able to quest for so I buy them (or at least some) at an NPC merchant please? Thanks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Not sure about what isn't available through Ian, but I can tell you that the first 3 quests, he gives you gloves, bracers and boots.

Through Ian Cathlan you'll get gauntlets, bracers, boots, shoulders, leggings, breastplate. No helm apparently. I have finished up to and including shoulders, so can't confirm further than that first-hand.I'm still using a storebought 1hs and shield, have yet to find a good quest for either.

You can see the stats for the gauntlets, bracers, boots, and arms on my <a href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=108498106" target=_blank>profile page</a>.

Actually the stats that show up when I click on your armor, or search for the Hearth Forged armor, are wrong. Here is what I have:1st Quest:Hearth Forged Gauntlets+2 agi, +5 wis, +11 Heatlh, +13 Power, +84 vs disease, +67 vs heatAC: 68, 92 @ level 25Skill: Heavy ArmorRequired: 95Mastery: 125Slot: Hands2st Quest:Hearth Forged Bracers+5 int, +2 str, +13 Heatlh, +12 Power, +67 vs divine, +84 vs poisonAC: 102, 143 @ level 26Skill: Heavy ArmorRequired: 100Mastery: 130Slot: Forearms3st Quest:Hearth Forged Boots+3 sta, +5 agi, +11 Heatlh, +16 Power, +84 vs magic, +67 vs mentalAC: 68, 99 @ level 27Skill: Heavy ArmorRequired: 105Mastery: 135Slot: Feet4st Quest:Hearth Forged Spaulders+2 sta, +6 wis, +13 Heatlh, +16 Power, +84 vs cold, +67 vs heatAC: 103 @ level 28Skill: Heavy ArmorRequired: 110Mastery: 140Slot: ShouldersBTW, at level 21 I cannot wear the Spaulders. They require 110 in HA, which won't happen untill 22. I have part V, and would assume that it takes level 23 to wear it.

Is the graphic on these of vanguard or is it just regular plate? (they're both 'heavy' armour, I believe.) I haven't noticed a huge difference in stats between the two, but I prefer the look of vanguard.

<DIV>You would think for pally quested armor there would be more Wis bonus on them. Are the graphics like the vanguard ? I also prefer the look of vanguard but **ZOMG** is it expensive.</DIV>

<DIV>I find myself wanting to continue wearing my Vanguard Steel armor rather than this new quest armor as it looks sooo much better ( looks like what you imagine a Paladin would really wear), but the stats on the quest armor is just too much to be ignored...... /sigh </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://www.voxnoctis.com/sigs/jamie.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I love my hearth forged armor and it's stats but the look is kind of plain. It has kind of a leather with silver ornataments placed on it, although some times it looks kind of bronzish too. I have completed all 6 quests but I can't wear the breastplate until next level. You can see the bracers, shoulders, legs, boots and gloves by clicking on my name in the signature. 60% more to level and you can see the breastplate hehe.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>EDIT: Oops had the frog picture up for my paperdoll shot, hehe. Should be fixed in a few minutes.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Kriterian on <span class=date_text>11-28-2004</span> <span class=time_text>12:01 AM</span>

Thanks to Kaleb of Unrest server and a few others I now have the complete quests, rewards, etc. in the Paladin Guide. I would appreciate it if the higher level Paladins (I'm only 23) could take a minute or three and fire me off some other worthwhile quests. Thanks!

<DIV>I just dinged 20 on Saturday night. Whew! I pushed pretty hard to get to Pally (almost entirely soloing), and now I am kind of burned out. So I will be casually playing around with my other characters for a few days. Quite frankly, there was a "brass ring" incentive to get to 20 (steed, vanguard armor, title), but not so much to go further for me at the moment. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyways, I had enough change in the seat cushions to go to Q. Harbor and purchase a steel vanguard chestpiece, helmet, shoulder pauldrons, and pants. In the coming days, I will be picking up the accompanying gauntlets and boots (wearing iron brigandine versions of both right now).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Quite frankly, I really like the look of the steel vanguard, and think I will eschew the quested armor pieces for now (despite their nice stats). It doesn't help matters that the Sabertooth tormentor portion of the first armor mission looks to require a group (and I am a soloer for the most part). Maybe after my short little break, I will reindle the fire in my belly for this armor.</DIV>

Also, just about all of the quest parts require a group, although a few portions of each step could be done solo. </DIV>

<DIV>I've finished all six parts and the armor is nice, but at 22, I can't wear the last 2 pieces. </DIV>
