View Full Version : Holy Steed
<DIV>Man is it slow.... Hopefully gets faster as you level.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tromaz</DIV>
<DIV>I don't think it dose, but if your able to out run anything thats chasing you, that fast enough for me <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Not sure they wanted to make it to fast because people that buy the 6pp or what ever horses in the stables would complain, they they would nerf us :smileymad:</DIV>
<DIV>In the first EQ shadowknights and paladins were given the fastest horses in the game. Granted they had to be 51+ and I think it took a total of 21 AA points or something? I forget exactly. Anyway, the point is both of these classes should get a sweet, fast horse. However, since they decided to give it to us at level 20 I can see why the thing is slow at first but it should definitely get faster as we level.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It is still very cool that it is perma-sprint speed right now and just having the horse is quite a status symbol this early in the game but I think later on the horses should become just as fast as the best horse possible just like in original EQ. People can complain all they want - we can't use illusions, should we complain? We don't get pets, should we complain? Come on... gotta give paladins and shadowknights something cool.</DIV>

I have looked high and low and I cannot find Holy Steed. Someone please point this doofus in the right direction. Thanks in advance
<DIV>Find the froglok trainer in Elddar Grove. If you can't find him use the "find npc" option with a guard and type in trainer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It costs about 14 silver if I remember correctly. Hope this helps.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Merovech Crimsonfang</DIV> <DIV>21 Kerran Paladin</DIV> <DIV>Befallen</DIV>

<DIV>ok one thing that I have noticed is that holy steed is about the same speed as having a sow, but here are some great points, while mounted you can still cast while moving, you can still attack while mounted and also it lasts for a very long time, and has a slow recast time.</DIV> <DIV>only cons are if you go into water too deep the steed dissapears, but other then that, you get it at lvl 20 how much better is that, in EQ1 you still had to wait until after lvl 50.</DIV>

<DIV>You can NOT cast while moving on the steed... I just tried. While riding, you can perform combat arts like "call to arms" but not spells like "blessed aid". The steed is still awesome, it has saved my exploring **ZOMG** several times already.</DIV>
<DIV>I see it costs 14s to get your steed, but if it disappears, do you have to pay another 14s for a new one, or can you just recast? Just asking as I haven't reached the heady heights of Paladinship yet.</DIV>
<DIV>The 14 silver gets you the spell after that all you do it cast it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My only grip is that you have to recast every time you zone.</DIV>
<DIV>Ah I see, didn't realise you purchased the spell. But yes, having to recaset between zones is a bit stupid.</DIV>
<DIV>I've tested this, I think Holy Steed is faster than SOW.</DIV>

<DIV>Actually, I have been able to cast blessed aid while on the horse. You just have to stop moving to cast just as you would if you weren't mounted.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The horse has also been nice on the rare occasion my group has been overwhelmed. I taunt the stuff and run in the opposite direction as my group runs, so that they are safe, and generally I can outrun whatever is chasing me, has saved the entire group xp debt on a couple of occasions.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://www.voxnoctis.com/sigs/jamie.jpg"></DIV>
<DIV>I've been able to cast all of my different spells while mounted if I start the spell while stopped and am following someone and we start to move.</DIV>

It's not faster, try raciing someone with sow that is not in your group...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, when you sit on your horse, it does not mean you are sitting at all times. You still have to be still to cast a spell without interrupting it. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

Was the first thing I tested.
