We get one at 22.6 and the other at 23. Someone care to enlighten me as to why? They're on a shared timer, and I'm doubtful as to whether they stack or not (though honestly, it's not that good a debuff to tell the truth).Someone explain please, 'cus right now I'm a very confused tincan <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
It looks like a mistake, I'd /bug it. If we all do, maybe they'll give us another useful spell or art in its place...

<DIV>well the same thing happen to me hehe, not sure whats going on. I buged it and also put a feedback in on it. Really cant see a diffrence in the two.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
The most logical assumption to me is that /bug eventually goes to developers, while feedback goes to designers. It's probably a good thing that you sent it to both parties, since this is both a bug and a missing spell.

<DIV>I am betting its not a bug. And that Smite prayer is the spell that provides penitent essences when an enemy dies with it on him</DIV>

<DIV>I only use Blinding Light and not Smite Prayer and still get Penitent Essences, so nope.</DIV>

<DIV>The Smite Prayer is a multiperson taunt like Shout except for the specials. Blinding light is the same as Prayer except for it is not multiperson.</DIV>

Incorrect vulgner. They are identical in the sense that they both taunt all opponents in an encounter (and to tell the truth, in all other senses as well).<p>Message Edited by Khael- on <span class=date_text>11-28-2004</span> <span class=time_text>11:01 AM</span>
I petitioned this thinking my character advancement was bugged/broken. The reply I received very specifically said the spells were not a bug or a mistake and that I should ask my fellow paladins or community if I couldn't figure out the differences myself. To be honest, that's pretty weak considering the descriptions/colors/times are identical (the descriptions use 2 different synonyms "decreases hate" vs "reduces hate") and the perceived affects in combat appear identical. If there is a difference it's so obscure no one on any server appears to have figured it out.

Has there been any light on this topic in recent days? This has me in a huff, I don't understand why I was cheated out of a skill....

<DIV>If Smite Prayer is meant to be the upgraded version of Blinding Light, that's fine, but it means that pallys missed a new art/spell at level 23. </DIV>

At 23 we also get Divine Inspiration.

<DIV>smite is not a mullti mob tool as blinding light is in anyway, IF you are MT and walk into a group of mobs then you use blinding light, if you want to manage and keep hate on a single mob you use smite. Granted smite can be used also on a group when you pull but it is not a guarantee that the hate alotted will transfer to the whole group. </DIV>

Smite Prayer is an AE encounter taunt. It has also been fixed (As of today) and appointed to the appropriate level we should have gotten it as an upgrade to Blinding Light.

<DIV>Wrong, Kaarma. That's what I thought at first.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's not even true AE (such as blue icons like Divine Wrath). Smite only affects the encounter, be it a single mob or muliples. So it's really 'EE' for 'Encounter Effect.'</DIV>
