Kite Shields?

Examine a bookshelf in Windstalker village. You will find two quests. Ignore the Windstalker Rumbler and take the other. I believe that's the quest he's refering to (though with all honesty, I haven't finished it myself - but I do know it results in a shield).EDIT: Never mind - just finished the quest and it resulted in a rather mediocre round shield. <DIV>bump... i'm currently 22 and now i just use a 2-hander all the time because there's no point in using a shield if it's a lame one.  the last time i saw a kite shield as a reward was when i got the one i'm sure we're almost all using (whatever its called).  i've seen people carrying an "ancient kite shield" but i have no idea how you get it.  still looking for good suggestions for a new kite shield... otherwise no point in not using the 2-hander.  it really seems like the game pushes you toward 2-hander since that's your first reward as a paladin and shield quests are apparently very rare.  i don't know about you but when i think pally... i think sword and board... kinda lame you have to really struggle to find a good shield.</DIV>

The ancient kite shield is an excellent option, and I highly recommend picking it up as soon as possible. It's way better than the storebought ashwood shield (which is even at 30), despite being green or gray by that level.

There is a nice kite shield that drops somewhere in Varsoons, Sheer Bone Kite Shield I think. I've seen a few on the broker for 2 or 3 gold, I think it was sporting over 400 AC when maxed.

I can attest to that. Using a Pristine Conditioned Ash Kiet Shield3int3wis10Health11Powermax 213 shield factor at level 30 I'm lvl 20 now, and it has 130 Shield factor.Player made stuff good. This was actually a gift from a level 31 friend of mine who got something better. Thanks Curmudgeon!Boreas

I just got the Pristine Ash kite shield as well at 22. My Leather Strapped Defender was getting awfully old - I had just been using two-handers. Got a nice player-made one handed morningstar to go with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there isn't a single class that can equip a Kite Shield and has any use for Int whatsoever... Yet many of the shields listed give an Int bonus. Ugh... Why, devs, why?!

Got a nice player-made one handed morningstar to go with it.<hr></blockquote>Ditto.If you can't find teh Pristine Ash Kite Shield on the brooker, then go to Nettleville Hovel and look for the Shieldsmith.There is a normal Ash Kite Shield that is wearable @ L20 for about 35s.I believe the stats are a little less then the Ash Kite Shields that drop from crabs in Nek Forest, but it is also usuable @ L20, where the looted Kite shield is not.Though I believe the Pristine Ash Kite shield is better then both.Bought mine the other night for 70s I think.
