<DIV>Anyone care to comment? Do paladins get some form of long distance pulling like a bow, or a long distance spell? If they dont that would sure be a super bummer.</DIV>

We have DD spells that can be used for pulling if you want. Also later on a long distance taunt.<p>Message Edited by Winfindel on <span class=date_text>11-24-2004</span> <span class=time_text>01:38 PM</span>

<DIV>Are you sure? I was under the impression paladins could NOT use bows. I since have read paladins get a long range spell which can be used for pulling at 13 I think.</DIV>
<DIV align=left>We do get a spell around 13, I think rightious anger, it can be used to pull, its not long range, thats all I have got , </DIV>

It's long enough to pull with.

<DIV>Yes our DD has a nice long range.. and I believe we get it around 13. The downside of becoming a crusader at 10 is that we lose the ability to use bows, so you have to go 3 levels with no ranged pulling option.</DIV>
<DIV>If not a bow, what about thrown weps like hammers? Can Paladins use those?</DIV>

<DIV>Throwing axes/hammers are classified as a Ranged weapon.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Taunt has a range as well. Although I havnt bothered seeing if Shout is also.</DIV><p>Message Edited by RyanLynx on <span class=date_text>11-17-2004</span> <span class=time_text>12:57 PM</span>

Heck, if our DD is short range, you could probably stand on what's left of luclin and pull with a long range spell./sarcasm offBut really, our DD is plenty long range enough. You can hit the back guy in a spawn of gnolls without even worrying about the front guys aggroing first (more than you can say for taunt). It's all we really need. And it opens up what seems to be a heavier, single target version of our wild swing HO.

Currently, my style at level 15 is generally duoing with a shammy (who just happens to be my bf's char, but that's beside the point). For some reason I can't figure out yet he insists on pulling :smileyvery-happy:. He pulls with slow, which helps when it is a heavy hitting mob so that neither of us takes too much damage off the bat. Plus it gives you a chance to blow toughness/call to arms/ward as its incoming so you can get the most dps off the bat without taking very much damage. Righteous Anger might be great for pulling if you're the one doing it, but it stinks for pulling agro off someone else. At least when they're casting slow. As a note, shout seems to have the same range as taunt does, which is to say, not very much. Although both shout and taunt are beautiful for pulling agro off of his shammy when pulling. Hats off to SoE for making taunt rock.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2>Also, cry of conviction (our first AE DD and man that's sick ) seems to have a longer range than shout. It says it casts in an AE around the caster, but as long as they are within a reasonable amount of space, perhaps the very edge of taunt, it will hit them. Then there's the fact that it can be cast at any distance from what I can see. The damage will only go off within the aforementioned range, but you can begin casting it soon enough that by the time the mobs are within range, they're getting hit with it.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2>Just my little bit there.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Be careful with that Cry of Conviction though, as it hits up to 6 targets, so say if you're fighting a group of 4, and there's a couple of rats/bats around the place while you're fighting, you could end up adding extra things to the battle by mistake. The same applies to Assault if they're within melee range.</DIV>
