This is all just a matter of "fluff" so don't get crazy on me =P.I was wondering about how the current look for our sacrament looks and what you all think about it. I personally have no problem with it: pretty cool looking skeleton with some decent looking armor and everyday sword. The constant "he he he!" and "ha ha ha!" everytime they swing their frigging sword kinda bothers me though. With that aside, I was wondering if anyone thought it would be nice to see a change with the model. You know, something with a more "spiritual" vibe to it... because, well, it is a "soul".I think I remember seeing in the 40s sacrament back in the day, (I think it was based on spell potency) something that looked very familiar to a planeshifted conj's scout pet.Again, this really isn't something to be looking forward to, but I just thought if maybe you all had an opinion on how it looks

honestly I'll take it just as it is. I've been trying to get soe to give it an evil demonic "shadow like" look since day one, and I dont want them to toy with it to much like they did in the past. when EQ first started sk's where slightly different then necros in the fact that they no longer played with corpses but instead spirits and souls. this is based off the spells we used to have and the fact the our pets used to be "spirit" like. as the discription of nafarious caress/sacrement (?) says we draw the souls ouf our enemies out of them and briefly have them fight for us. anybody who was playing since day one can probably remember the ugly dove/bird we used to have fight for us, then at lvl 40? it was changed to floating glob of,,,,well poo. since then we have to have come back to the necromantic arts and now used the skelly thing, which I dont mind considering its cool to watch them grow from a naked skelly peasant at lvl 26, to an armor wielding warrior at lvl 68. still I think an awesome pet would be a black shadowman graphic except with feet instead of the little floating vortex swirl. also (and I used to be the last person to say this) mitigaton and melee attack dps has been dumbed down and changed so much for fighters, that I no longer see why they just dont give us a permanent pet.

I wouldn't mind, also, changing the look for Apprentice/Adept/Master like other "pet" spells. I was kind disappointed spending the money to get Nefarious Sacrament (Master I) only to find out he looked identical to my Adept I version. Changing from the skeleton to some other dark/evil-looking undead would be pretty cool too, but, overall, I'm happy with the skeletons.

It sure brought very sour in my taste when I first got them after so many years in EQ1 as Sk with a skelly.. Thanks for reminding that 2 old pet graphics that we had to endure..

I'd have to disagree here, I prefer our current skeleton to some sort of wraith or spirit. Shadowknights are related to necromancers... and thus deal with the undead and not necessarily spirits. A spirit pet would be better for something like a defiler (and I think would make a much cooler defiler pet than a wolf.) Keep the skeleton, I think he's awesome.

we deal with necromantic magic, not nesisarily undead like necro's.and my defiler would love anything but the gimped dog he has right now...

Btw, I like skeleton-based pet that we get and it offers visual upgrades to skeleton as we acquire pet upgrades. I thank SOE for that. I had to bear with boring same skeleton model for whole 70 levels in EQ1 as SK. Glad that EQ2 didn't follow up EQ1's idea.. I'm used to skeleton for SK for long time and prefer to have it stay there. Remember.. SK in EQ2's root history is actually from SK in EQ1 for the black arts of necro and had been evolved somewhat over time but retain same basic foundation of SK class: Platemail, steed, can't dual wield, skelly pet, FD, lifetap, etc.

So, no thanks to any non-skeleton pets to replace our current pet..

Message Edited by Nocifer Deathblade on 01-17-2007 01:05 PM

Not sure about app cuz I never had app pet before other than sub 50 that came to us free..
