Troll SK???

<P>Hey there!  Race really does not make enough of a difference in the long run that you should let it control your choice.  Just pick the race that you like the best for whatever the reason (I went with a DE because I just like DE's).  There are even a disturbing number of ratonga SK's for some unknown reason <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.  If you really cared stats-wise, I suppose humans are probably the best.  SK's most important stats are spread in a way that no race is strong in all of them.  As the most balanced race I suppose that makes humans the ideal, but really ANY race is fine in the long run.  </P> <P>Welcome again to EQ2.</P>

<DIV>Troll should be a good SK (honestly race is just for looks in the end it doesn't matter).  Having played a SK from pretty much the start of eq2 (with the new changes i'm guessing levelling up at the start is easier than it used to be), Sk's pretty much can put down anything in the game.  Don't expect to be soloing heroics at level 1 tho (you get to that about level 5 (<= joke <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> )), you'll take awhile to come into your own.  When it comes to gear, get the best you can afford (we are very gear dependent but noone can survive like we can with good gear). Halfling is the only real option for your SK. These people know nothing, ignore them. Halflings FTW!.

Only races allowed to be SKs should be Iksar (the best), Troll, Ogre, Dark Elf, Erudite, Barbarian and Human. Anything else is an abhorrant, and not in the way we should be.

High Elf SK is like Justin Timberlake trying to look tough.No matter what you still look like the fluffer for a backstreet boys orgy.Trolls make one of the better looking SK's (plate tanks) in my opinion.<div></div>

<P>I really miss the old days of EQ1 when classes were limited to the race you chose.  The poster a few above me named all those that could be SK then.  Good aligned races had to take the Paladin route which was an inferior class in every regard.  I play on a PvP server and the whole idea was to be the goodies of Qeynos battling the baddies from Freeport.  First they gave the all classes/all races idea through betrayal and then added an Exile faction which to this day still makes no sense to me.  My EQ2 SK is Troll.  My EQ1 SK was Iksar.   SK ares bred from evil, harbingers of death and diease.  Elven races and halflings are to be fodder, not friends.</P> <P>Oh, and to answer the OP question race is purely cosmetic.  Play what you feel looks the best. </P>

<DIV>My choice for my Shadow Knight was not from a which is better than the other race.  My Shadow Knight is a High Elf Female who fell from the path of Rigtheousness to follow the path of self indulgence.  There were a few reasons for this besides my little RPing that I do on my server.  First and foremost I wanted to see all the aspects of the game so I wanted to betray.  I like the High Elf Female so I had her betray.  Also, I like their racial ablilities the most to boost my int and wis.  Finally, I wanted to be good girl gone bad in the game it is fun for me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Since you are from WoW and so am I let me break it down in terms you can better understand.  Each race has traitions(racials) that are useful to almost any class.  Really just go for looks the most stats only matter at the beinging of the game.</DIV>

<P>I took a great deal of time to decide which race to make my SK.  In the end, I went with Troll.  Probably for the same reason as you Bliss.  :smileyhappy:</P> <P>I remember reading a post about picking races for SK that made a good point.  It basically said that no matter what race you pick, you better reaaaallllyyyy like it because you'll fall in love with the SK and you'll be stuck with a race you don't like otherwise.  So...
