Well, we have had time with the changes to mitigation. What are your views on a "sweet spot" balance between mitigation and avoidance for the tanking SK? For example, is acheiving 65% mitigation and 55% avoidance a sweet spot? What "balance" between mitigation and avoidance has worked well for you? In group tanking and in raid tanking? What avoidance enhancements have the biggest pay back (increased agility or increased parry, for example)? Magical avoidance requires it's own thread probably, so lets just talk about minimizing physical damage.

Not sure about sweet spots...but last night in HoF, grouped with a Dirge, Fury, Defiler, Wizard, and Berserker (me being the MT), I got to about 57% mitigation and 49.7% avoidance all buffed up. We tore through pretty much everything (with the exception of a bad pull on Sothis).

Im sitting at 63-64% mit on raids. and up to 50% avoidance depeing on buffs.

The problem is for me balancing HP/Avoidance/spell resist/melee resist is way too hard.

For instance I fight a mob that has a huge poisen AE I have to put poisen gear on and lose a ton of mit and avoidance.... so basically I dont tank so well now because Im sitting at 59% mit and 40% avoidance (just an example).

I have been looking a brig and bruiser stats alot lately.. and frankly it looks like bruisers/monks/brigands should be main tanks right now. There seems to be huge penalties on avoidance for wearing plate but with the mitigation diminished returns a Monk type can hit 4k mit and have insane avoidance and outclass tanks in the role they are designed for. I dont understand how the logic works here where leather can get around 50% mitigation but plate gets very very hard to top over 63%??? yet around 45% avoidance it gets hard (at least for me ) becuase im in plate?

I imagine chain is the sweet spot now with the decent mitigation and the decent avoidance.. havent really tested it other then checking guildies stats.

How about this.. each type of armor starts its diminished return in a different spot.... instead of it being say 4k for all it would be

plate 4k

chain 3k

leather 2k

cloth 1k

Just an example .. Im not one of those number crunchers, but you get my drift... why should plate wearers be penalized more then anyone else in mitigation??????

self buffed atm i get about 53% mit and 40.8% avoidance, still need a couple more pieces of gear, I focused on +def gear and added +vs crush/slash/pierce when I could.I heard the diminishing returns starts at around 52-53% mit.
