Im just looking for some tips to kill swashys in t7 i always seem to last about 5 seconds against them. After checking my log seems like a skill called daring attack does most of the damage. Just wondering if this is the damage sheild thing they get i cant seem to find any info on the skill. <div></div>

man I feel your pain, out of all the classies in the game swashies are the least likely to hesitate to go crazy on me. I have my sta AA trick divine aura to ward of all the damage they try to give me, honestly its the only thing that keeps me alive. otherwise theres not much I can tell you because there is a big difference from the swashies in t1-t6, and t7 swashies.  Then agian I just hit lvl 70 yesterday, so If I find anything else out I will make sure to tell you. <div></div>

<DIV>ha when i was a pally i duoed with a swashy from lvl 20-55</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>stuns knockbacks are about the only thing you can do and keep the DOT's on him so he cant invise as well.  (everytime hes damage it would cancel invise)  please use the totems so you can see him for the few seconds he would be invised </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>firsat attack you need to cast is the ward (it will get taken down fast but allows you to cast the other stuff first) then DM followed by doom judgement as it cancels poison procs on weapons.  by this time you would have a few attacks against you pop a cure potion to remove whatever is against you and start stunning and knocking.  i tend to kick the swashy cast then cast the pet.  then go wild with debuffs and attacks and mixing in the knockback shield bash's.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>and if you can BACK YOURSELF INTO A CORNER  if they cant get behind you it makes it easier same if they cant invise </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>this has worked many times </DIV>

Havent gotten up there yet so dunno how correct it is.</div>

aye one handed swashies have a buff called lunge reversal which means every time they parry, repost, etc or their oponent does the same to them, they do damage to their oponent... it has a refresh on how often it can trigger though iirc.their 65 ancient teaching is also prety nastry for brawlers.

<P>First and foremost our most useful weapon against a swashbuckler is the Butterfly totem. If they get the jump on you...your chances of winning were just narrowed to about 20%. Personally I am a lvl70sk that hunts down pvp, so I am constantly whirling the camera around me, seeking out some action, typically no one gets the drop on me....typically.</P> <P>I like to compare the Shadowknight VS Swashbuckler to a game called Soul Calibur 2...Knightmare VS Sigfried, the destined battle between swashbuckler and knight. :smileysurprised:</P> <P>Our second most useful weapon against the swashbuckler of eq2, and ironically the swashbuckler of SC2 (....sorry :smileywink: ), is range. Against a swashbuckler that I've spotted, I immediately use wrath to snare, then throw up death march. This is the part where I exhaust all my ranged attacks, Anger, Coil, Smite, Unholy Helm of the Death Knight, that Zapper thing from Drednever quests and Pestilence. Typically if you can fire off Coil and Anger back to back before he can crawl close enough to strike, after casting those two if you have the helm and zapper cast those on the run while creating more distance for the rest of your spells. </P> <P>By the time I've spent all my range attacks, snare is wearing off and so is death march, so I am summoning the pet. If you have created some good distance for yourself you can summon the pet and start casting Tap Veins, but the time they reach you Veins should go off and hit them with another big shot. Most swashies are down to about 30% by this time, and you know they are about to do what they do best......kick your [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] on the inside. </P> <P>But do not fret! With some fancy footwork you can put this fight away. As soon as they are in melee range you know daring attack is coming, and it hurts like hell, so let's diminish it a bit. When they finally get up on you, Stun them with Boot, FD and make them poick your pet up as a target, should take them a sec to retarget you and by this time you should be standing and hitting them with your Shield Slam. After hitting with slam back up to create some distance while they are stunned, then as they close that short distance boot should be back up and hit them with it again, immediately cast your ward. </P> <P>If when you snare them they dispell it...have fun cause I have not figured out a way to beat a swash on the inside if he has taken my range away before I can exhaust it. </P> <P>A bit long winded...but give it a try.  </P> <P>P.S.</P> <P>I would reccomend having the Reaver buff from our new AA line up. This is a small insurance in case you loose control off the inside fight, you will be able to spam your taunts, anger,  cruel intent and coil to go [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] for tat with the added dmg provided to the swashbuckler vie daring attack. If you can keep your fast cast spells going (yes mana sieve, siphon strength and despoil trigger the heal too) you can make a good 6 or 7 daring attack procs inconsequential. </P><p>Message Edited by Ekeleferal on <span class=date_text>12-21-2006</span> <span class=time_text>10:05 PM</span>
