<DIV>OK.. one of my regular grouping buddies is an illusionist.  Now this is quite handy given that since Fallen Dynasty SOE have in their wisdom decided that an enchanter is more essential than a healer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>However, with mezzes, its really hard to get the best out of an SK.  As everyone knows, an SK thrives on biiiig groups of mobs that we can burn with AoEs while constantly topping up to green health in between interrupts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Well what I want to ask is, how are other SKs feeling about the content we have at the moment, and have they found any other good strategies for maximising their contribution to a group given that we often find ourselves fighting one mob at a time now?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe my group is just over cautious...</DIV>

Why on earth would you mez mobs of one encounter?  I could see if you got multiple encounters, but it takes so much longer to kill if all you're doing is nuking single targets at a time.

<DIV>I would argue needing a enchanter for group content at all, its beneficial but not needed and there buffs still come in very handy especially the agi nowdays.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Nizhara and MMC are both doable without a enchanter, sure they make it easier.. but if you want it easy we are fine on single target encounters and you wont be playing to maximum efficency anyhow and if you do get loads of mobs... and the enchanter goes splat you can astound the group but wrapping all the mobs up into a nice ball of aggro and blowing them to pieces =)</DIV>

<div></div><div></div>Control freak enchanters are a right pain to group with as a SK - what you do though, is get your blue AoE DoTs off before they have a chance to mezz, and your golden <span>:smileywink:Seriously - mezzing inside an encounter has no place outside Mistmoore Castle / Niz.  So normally the enchanter can concentrate on doing decent dps, stuns/stifles/interrupts/power, and otherwise be a useful asset to the group.  Tthey do weirdly enough have pretty good encounter dps (green not blue), when they keep their mitts of the mezz buttons. For those 2 hard zones though I'd say they are essential for the non-UberGearedTwoPriestsBalancedGroup, so there I hold off on AoE dots until they have had a chance to lock down the extraneous mobs.  MMC is not a lot of fun as a SK anyway - too many stuns/stifles and mobs that are too tough to AoE on.  (My SK is mainly legendary geared rather than fabled  so that will be a factor). With my illusionist hat on - SK's are similar to Berserkers - when you DO need to mezz, you generally can't until the tank is dead.  Then, with that glory seeking scumbag out of the way, you can lock everything down, break combat, rezz the priest etc, etc.</span><div></div><p>Message Edited by Antryg Mistrose on <span class=date_text>12-14-2006</span> <span class=time_text>02:47 AM</span>

Thats when they should mez. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Let hem handle the adds, and me the mountant of social aggro I just pulled. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Cause, I wanted half the room anyways. <div></div>

<DIV>I married a chanter, so i have up close and personal sk experience with one on just about every encounter <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  As long as they aren't mezz happy they are a huge benefit.  They have a great hate transfer, so i know even with some high dpsers i never have to worry about losing agro.  Their stuns save my life more often than tap veins.  They also give a 70%+ dps buff(don't remember exact number) for us.  So all in all, they're a great grouping companion as long as they know what they're doing.  And that pretty much goes for most classes, but done right, coercers have loads of utility to complement our tank style.</DIV>

<DIV>Hi excuse the enchanter intrusion here =)...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wanted give you little insight into the difference between illy and coercer...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>yes were both enchanters and we have pr and dps/hate mezz yadayada.. but an when things start to look hairy or the need for crowd controll comes into play an illsusionist has many mezzes and stiffles where the coercer has a mutlitude of stuns.  This sets a coercer up great for an ae class such as SK... timed right our blue or or green ae stunn is a dream with your tap veins... i mean I get all goey when my sweety and I get our timing on it... (thats Nirmoc btw)  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also SK get a bad name growing up as a tank with agro issues... yes yes don't throw anything at me but the misconception you guys can't hold your agro is out there so an enchanter without a stun mentality will hit mezz forgetting mezz will block all ae spells like ae taunts and your hate over time ability ect ect...  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My advice on how to deal with an enchanter you want to go lightly on the mezzing:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <OL> <LI>Enchanters can be as high maintenance as any wizard don't kid yourself so when they mezz on you the first time it might just be they are testing you out or getting the feel for the group, but after a couple times they should be ready to give you some room.. if coercer ask them to stun in stead of mezz if they don't mind.. we love empty courtesy npnp.. and if illusionist I'd reasure them of your agro ability in nice nonconfrontation way... im serious illusionist are as moddy as my sister on her cycle.. coercers like a preteen cheerleader with a chip on their shoulders... you get the picture.. assure them you can handle the agro and then make sure you back it up (no pressure)</LI> <LI>Once you've talked the panties off them and they are willing to trust you  and your "agro issues" communicate- when a second group comes in .. make a macro say in gorup ect.. got inc group so they don't freak and make a mess of those panties you've just sweettalked.  explain how Deathmarch works and how you can snap agro in a second... so when uglyness comes afoot and you say deathmarch up they are all calm and reasured and ready for the ae SK ride... </LI> <LI>Do what Nirmoc does.. dot the crap when he pulls it and then giggle "hehe oops honey sorry heheh I forgot" (like he hasn't played sitting next to me for 7+ years now)  Now unless you've got the swinging sack to back it up or have or plan to marry your enchanter expect serious faction issues after that. </LI> <LI>when push comes to shove it's the enchanter's job to controll the crowd.. they can do it so many ways outside of mezz occationally and especially when the crap hits the fan you just have to put your faith in them that their call at the time was right just like we have to believe you when you say you will hold agro and not fall over...</LI></OL> <P>as a note a coercer/SK is an incredible duo ... Nirm and I play a 4 box Inq/SK and Coercer/Warlock just for the AE action... you get an enchanter to taste that AE action you guys can bring and she'll be accepting a marriage proposal in no time...</P> <P>/hugs~~</P>
