<DIV>I was going to ask this on the newbie yard but could not post there for some reason. Anyway, here goes.</DIV> <DIV>I've recently started playing eq2 and got a lvl 23 ratonga troubador that was very fun to play to start with but starts to get a bit limited at my lvl. It might be just my gear that is realy bad but i've started to look for another class to play and going to pick up EoF tomorrow and start as another race than a ratonga as i got tierd of the rat look quite fast. But enough of that on the shadowknights forum. What i am looking for in a character is a character that is fun to play in groups (it is an mmo after all) but also a character that is fun to explore with solo. I've had my eyes on the shadowknight the past two days or so and it looks like it can have what im looking for in a class.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And the main questions:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As i understand it the shadowknight is still mainly a tank class as the other plate wielding classes?</DIV> <DIV>Is the main part of the damage melee or is it magic?</DIV> <DIV>Can the shadowknight solo without boring the enemy and yourself to death?</DIV> <DIV>Will there be a problem to find groups as a shadowknight (I see alot of shadowknights run around all over and I realy want to be able to find groups and maybe even raids later on)?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Im happy for any answers.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV> <DIV>Hi,</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#33ccff></FONT> </DIV> <DIV>"And the main questions:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As i understand it the shadowknight is still mainly a tank class as the other plate wielding classes?</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#00ccff>Indeed, certainly in any group situation we make fine tanks. I have not reached raid level, and there is some debate on this, but </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#00ccff>at lvl 51 I am tanking with no problems. All fighters can in theory tank, but plate offers nice mitigation, and is more manageable for healers than fighters that rely on avoidence (more spike damage).</FONT></DIV> <DIV>Is the main part of the damage melee or is it magic?</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#33ccff>About 80 % of our damage comes from magic.</FONT></DIV> <DIV>Can the shadowknight solo without boring the enemy and yourself to death?</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#00ccff>Certainly nothing boring about soloing as a SK. We are great soloers, and if you go all out and spec right, we can kill pretty quick, and groups of mobs are just fast food to us! Fun spells and abilities too.</FONT></DIV> <DIV>Will there be a problem to find groups as a shadowknight (I see alot of shadowknights run around all over and I realy want to be able to find groups and maybe even raids later on)?"</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#33ccff>Until raiding, I think you will have no problems. Depends on the server, but i get aprox 10 group invites a night, and i like soloing mainly, so I am not looking. Sometimes I end up grouping, just for a change, but no problems at all so far in this department.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#33ccff>At raiding stage, I think most people would prefer a Guardian to tank, but if you are in a Guild or know your class well, you should be fine.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#33ccff></FONT> </DIV> <DIV>Hope this info helps... and if you join the SK class, then i say welcome... and have fun!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Vannilla Dark</DIV></DIV>

<P>Thanks for the answers Vanilla.</P> <P>Made my little dark elf SK today, but i have to say.. it was tempting to make a fae and betray later on <IMG height=16 src="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif" width=16 border=0></P>

<P>That would be nice, when I first came back for the expansion, I wanted to make a Fae SK, sadly I found out that they can't betray. So I have a lvl 16 Fae paly, sitting around for nothing <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Iksar SK ftw!</P> <P>Rrinn</P>
