Is it just me or do most people that play a shadow knight also have an illusionist?

SK = natural enemy of Illusionists (at least the ones who want to mezz everything in sight). My "soloing" is dual boxing them both - works well

its a wierd combo, although for me, the SK started off as the alt, my illu was my main during DOF

Whatever you feel like doing, you can do it.
Soloing is a cake once you learn the class (Well, you should expect to die a lot unless you use a certain tactic and are fast with your CC). Groups will always love to have you along for your buffs (power regen, hate and dps buff, not to mention, with the right pet you can do wizlike dps, but most groups dont feel too confy around those pets. ). Raiding, you have a spot. Once again because of your buffs. In this scene you will be stuck doing medicre dps because of the scarce charmable mobs, but meh, you'll most of the time be in the MT group.

If you feel lik killing nameds, well, no biggie. Yellow and down is a cake once you get the grip of the class.

That being said, IMHO it is one of the hardest classes to get right. And you get to pay for it with risk.

I started an Illusionist to see why the chanters always get mad at me for using out-of-encounter AOE dots....Oh. That's why.

Not that its a bad thing, but could be better.
they have had a fair bit of love recently, and the illu AA line has some very nice stuff.we were very tank heavy and short elsewhere last night (every tank we have was online), so i offered to play my illu... was getting about 800 DPS or more most fights in emerald halls, and he's pretty badly geared to be in there and lacks a lot of damage masters.

So, I am actually kind of optimistic about stuff. Heck, even the bards got a word from a dev about having their gimped Bloodlines debuff (Which at lvl cap actually BUFF the people you put it on) being fixed. And the bards are always complaining about not getting fixes. Much like the coercer community were when I joined them. Now they are pretty full of themselves boasting to be the best soloers.

I think the devs are just slowly churning thru the classes and fixing them, and some of the fixes have been pretty [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] awesome in the way they were done. SK as an outstanding example. The Death march change fixed several issues in one single swipe. HEalthy sign. So lets just hold hands and hope for an ever improving game.
