Im making a shadowknight right now or might make a beserker based on your thoughts.  See after the EoF patch my necro could no long solo heroics ^^^ 4 levels below him and my bruiser basically tanks like a brigand but with major loss of dps.  I just want to know a few things, can a shadowknight solo groups well, take on ^^^'s withing 4 levels of him, and can he kill relatively fast.<div></div>

<P>As long as your not into raiding SK can tank well, although aggro can be problomatic at lower levels.  We are effecient solo class also, though not as good as we where prior to changes in mitigation.</P> <P>Note - before this gets into flame fest, we can tank raids ... I've done it numerous times.  But we are not the optimal class for it.</P>

To answer your question i can say that shadowknights are most versatile tank  class with ability do do lots of stuff , we lack in one department and its aggro . As u progress into higher levels u will see it changes but still we will be little behind other classes at aggro holding , but there is postive thing we can lock mutliple encounters on us same or better then warriors classes but single target we lag behind. I am a skillful player with lev 70 sk but sometimes even non tanking zerkers grab my aggro in grp. However with EOF our new relic armor set increases our caress line that does aggro when sk gets hit twice and i am hoping it would bring us aggro balance with other tanks ,which will lead to us being better then them P. If you willing to work hard on keeping your aggro , other sk features wil amaze we have bunch of them and no other tanks have them , we are a truly fun class to play!! Hope that answers your question a little.

well, SK's are way better than berserkers in EoF...the sk's dps didnt get hit as hard as my 70s zerker did, also the SK's actually get usefull extra AA tree in EoF...the zerkers EoF AA tree SUCKS...also, at lower levels my SK solo'd WAY better than my zerker ever did. post class "balancing" (nerfs) in EOF, my SK still solos faster and kills much safer and does more dps than my zerker did way back when zerkers actually did good dps (pre lu17 or so).

People are saying that were will be adjustments to the combat changes, should i just stick with my bruiser or make a shadowknight, because bruisers struggle to tank ^^^ 7 levels below them atm.<div></div>

I loose aggro from time to time to monks, bruiser, brigands or whatever ... but .. thats normally never critcal so that somone dies .. and as long as nobody dies i can live with that <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>I don't wan't to tell monks 10 times to deactivate dragon stance .. i don't want to tell scouts to use their detaunts as soon as they are up .. so if they don't do that and get some hits .. as long as noone dies .. its ok <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

Well i dont care about group tanking too much or aggro.  I just wanted to know if shadowknights can take more of a beating than bruiser(And will it stay this way or will SoE fix the avoidance issues soon) and if they could take groups down faster in the process (I know they get one AoE spell 1-30 and get a shield that does damage to the encounter).<div></div>

<DIV>well, plate classes have always been better at tanking mobs...its sad, but SOE has never wanted to make avoidance tanks usefull for raids other than using their FD. they do ok tanking in small groups, but tanking mobs that are yellow or orange and you will need two healer to keep them up, if they stay up at all...they also struggle keeping aggro on group mobs. if they had better avoidance vs mobs that were white or yellow to them they would be MT'ing alot more. my wifes 70 monk doesnt have near the tanking capabilities or aggro holding vs group mobs. if you wanna tank you will be sorry if you choose a bruiser. if you just want to solo your way through the game a bruiser is prolly as good of a choice as a SK. having played a zerker to 70 i can say that while a good choice for groups since you can tank or dps, its not as good of choice for soloing(no feign death,no evac,no tap viens, ect or any of the FD's and special skills or dps brawlers get).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>so, there is my input. at the end of the day though, play what makes you happy...all classes in the game are capable of successfull solo'ing and all have unique buffs and skills to add to groups. play what you like the most <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
