Putrid Coil, Pestilent Touch, Death Circle, or Sacrilege. Which did you go with and why?

Message Edited by Vexorkane on 10-21-2006 02:39 PM

Went with PT because I got lucky with a master trade and got my AE taunt master before I hit that lvl . Secondary resuce when needed and one hell of an ability for raw, quick damage.

I actually went with Death Circle. I had already purchased the m1 of Sacriledge before I hit 64 otherwise I would have probably taken it. I choose death circle mostly because it is an AE dmg spell to help keep agro vs multiple mobs.

I also picked Death Circle for master 2...picked up masters of Sacrilege and PT fairly early in T7. Don't think I would choose differently either...the increase to Sacrilege is very small from master 1 to master 2...where as with Death circle the increase isn't super great...but the extra damage is on every mob.

I went with sacrilige. It's the initial hate gen that a lot of SKs have problems with...especially with group-raid mates that unload early (at least pre-DM update). It's our main upfront taunt and disease debuff (that increases our dammage too)...the other taunts have small-med upfront hate and hate over time, or small proc hate. I'm in the STA AA line also, so I have a strong enough extra AOE with Hammerground anyway.

sacrilige also for the extra hate gain. I have like 5 AOE thingies and master I of all the other choices anyway.

Death circle, because sacrilege was much easier and cheaper to get in the broker as M1 at that time

Like a lot of others i went with Death Circle, i had all the other M2 choices in M1, death circle seems the rarest so i took that. extra damage is always handy too

I went with PT cause death circle puts me to sleep casting it :smileyvery-happy: The damage increase on the M2 doesnt show well till you land it on a debuffed mob and it does 14+ k damage but when it does [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] is it sweet. Like Naldir said.. Its also a extra rescue sometimes which is very usefull along with DM and rescue. Great for yanking a mob away from another on inc if your split tanking something. The range on it is 30m. Thats alot for a spell that does that much damage. We often use sk's just for that reason. 2 named inc. PT the mob you want in your tank spot before it even gets to the raid... Instant huge agro.

I went for sacrilege m2. I ended up finding server's first m1 death circle in sos so i decided next best thing was the taunt/debuff. PT i considered choosing, but mehhh, i rather do good disease debuff/aggro than have a another "rescue" attack... PT can be fixed with a good ol' m1.

not that Im trying to prove which one is best or anything, but heres something else to consider, if you have a better de-buff ( sacrilege ) then all of our spells are going to do more damage anyway. right?

Message Edited by muguguypan on 10-23-2006 03:45 PM

Message Edited by muguguypan on 10-23-2006 03:45 PM

Agreed on the idea that Sacrilege would increase all damage following, but on the other hand availability must be considered. I know for one that I would rather pick a master II choice that is a rare drop on my server than simply up the points a few more on a taunt/debuff. I would also rather have a master I and a master II rather that an master II and an adept III. Sacrilege was an easy gain on my server and Pestilent Touch was like 3 plat for the longest time so for me like many others, the choice was Death Circle. Also to be perfectly honest, in most groups I taunt once if at all and then spam AoE's like they are going out of style, if I can taunt with damage I always see that as more mana efficient than taunting and then doing damage. Of course that takes knowing the classes and groups and even the gear/skills they are using. There are some groups where I only pretty much taunt and everyone else does so much damage that it's all I really have time for making the debuff almost pointless unless grouped with another disease damage dealer.

All the upgrades from M1 to M2 where really crappy. Sacrilege was only like 30 threat and 15 disease debuff. So go wiith whatever one you can't find M1, or whicherver is the most expensive in M1 if all are available.
