Newbie Help Needed. Weapon Suggestions 1H or 2H

Depends on the situtation: Solo depends on the con of the mob and how many mobs if i'm taking to much damage I switch to 1h and shield Group Main tank: 1h and shield Group Assisting tank: 2 handed and 1h  because some skills like shield bash type of styles require the use of a shield. While leveling:I carry 3 1h weapons piercing slashing and bludging and 2 - 3 2h  wepons piercing slashing and bludging. Gotta keep the skill up. Hope this helps some.<div></div>

<P>well,  if in a good guild, go to stormhold and try to get berik.  its a great pre 30 sword.  but its quite difficult to get if your not in a really good guild.  otherwise.  just search broker and get best you can afford . i use both 1h + shield and 2h.  situational.  herioncs or tough singles ill use shield,  grinding ill use 2h alot for extra faster damage. </P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

for clarification, lol, in order to get berik, which is argueably the best or 2nd best 1h weapon for 20-27ish, you need to first have the item "Sword of Thunder".  in all odds, you will not find this item while lvling: it can best a chest or body drop from anything in Stormhold but it's also extremely rare.  Depending on market values, you should be able to buy one off the broker for 1g-4p .... it's highly variable and in all odds, since you're a n00bie =P, probably out of your price range.  if you're looking for something cheap, search the broker.  I advocate always using 1h's and a shield, b/c pvp and pve, it gives you better stats over all and better avoidance at a marginal loss of damage. the only exceptions i can think of it when you are not MT on a raid.  if you have the money to buy a mastercrafted 1h weapon at 20+ though, definitely price check berik b/c it's worthit.  the other catch to berik, sword of thunder, is thatthe quest takes a longtimeand if youre new youll have to use ogaming.com to help you find the spawn locations for the named mobs, which you will need tokill after killing 100 skeletons, and which can take hours to spawn ENJOY!<div></div>

And the other advantage of seeking out Berik is that when you have completed the Bone Bladed Claymore HQ from Lvl 40+ you will have the option of merging the two swords to create the Electrified Bone Bladed Claymore.  Definitely worth having.  I only just stopped using the EBBC as my 2H Sword when I hit Lvl 55 SK earlier this week.

Best 2-hander once you get to around 20ish (cannot remember when you can get it) is the Shiny Brass Halberd.  Its a fairly easy HQ in that it only involves one step that will really require a group and I think that they recently boosted the rate at which you will get updates on the step that involves killing zombies.  With the long ago boost in the number of regular ash owlbears that should make this quest a breeze except for the Gul Thex guy.  I think I was level 26 when I finished the quest and used the weapon well into the 30's as my primary 2 hander.   It must be a good SK weapon.  In the big fight my group was 5 sk's and a healer.
