our pet is temporary, more like a graphical dot that can be killed<img src="http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/527/eq2000072vs0.jpg">thats the higher level pet, lower level ones have less armour and smaller swords

Our pet can also take agro under the right conditions.  Occasionally if I'm fighting a group mob, I'll sic my pet on one of the encounter members and then fight another member, and watch my pet get agro.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>
