2 Hander vs. 1 Hander and Symbol

Ive been using the Rak'leklo sword from labs as my main weapon for DPS and I was wondering if any of you out there use a 1h and symbol (for the int AA) and how it compares to a 2h weapon.  Also which 1-h weapons and symbols out there go good together for a DPS set up.  For AA (almost lvl49) I went sta: 4-4-8-8-1, int:4-4-7 and currently switch to a symbol on my hot bar to use the nuke and back to the 2h weapon and wanted to know if just using a 1h and symbol would be better.

I am currently STR:4-5-8-4-1  and   INT:4-8-8   and I use a 1h + symbol.       With the Planar Axe of Destruction and Symbol of Mystic Etchings (both from Princes)  I do equal dps compared to using a 2h, and it is much easier to swap out to a shield if i need to take a few hits.    Another benefit of using 1h+symbol is the extra spell you get,   more spells = more spell procs = more dps !

I'd like to get one of those planar axes of destruction but ill probably have to settle for frostwrath or shadow axe seeing how you guys got the contesteds pretty well locked down lol.

hey, can someone explain to me the easiest way to set up a macro too quickly change between, symbol and a shield? I have tried to hotkey them but it wont work. The problem seems to be how to quickly un-equip.<div></div>

<P>I find that in PvP the symbol and legionaires smite is better than a 2 hander and far better than a shield. Im wis 8, int 8-8-8, so my resists are high, int is high and I get a 20 second smite =)</P> <P>Great for fighting casters and scouts, but I have to keep distance on monks or evac when geared like this. As always warriors are slow dps so I can usually keep in front of them solo.</P>

Its not working out of combat either. I click the icon it does nothing. I even tried to manually remove the item first. But that clear's the hotkey to the empty slot. I must be going wrong somewhere, but I cant work it out.<div></div>

There is a bug with the hot keys that thinks it's a cloak slot and anything in it does not work.  Only thing that works is reloging to fix it.  Maybe you are having this problem.  It happens from time to tome with me.

It takes 3 hot keys to switch to a symbol, cast smite, and back to what you were using.  Make sure the symbol and item you want to switch back to are both in your inventory, then drag the symbol to a hotkey, then put legionnaire's smite, then drag the item you want to switch back to onto the next hotkey.  So you youre gonna use it you hit the symbol, cast smite, then after casting hit the item you want to equip again.  You can switch gear every 2 secs in combat so it comes out to about that once you put the symbol on and cast smite.  You will just have nothing in your primary slot if you were using a 2h weapon but it doesnt really matter since your spending most of the time casting.

Keep in mind I generally have a shield and weapon equiped with a symbol in the ranged slot as well. Because the range slot is usually equiped with my symbol, I assume I have to get another symbol that sits in the inventory and swaps out with the shield? </div>

Yes, you got it. You need a Symbol in your inventory, not equiped.If you drag an equiped item to your hotkeys and click it, the system tries to cast its spell (if it has one, if not nothing will happen).<div></div>
