lvl 23 SK here lookin for help

as the topic stated I'm a lvl 23 SK lookin for any kinda help, like what as an SK should i be focusing on as far as skills (str, sta,) to make my SK top notched cause it is my main any help from higher up SK's would be nice <div></div>

<P>Buff up your INT and mitigation. My SK runs out of power way before he runs out of health. Shadowknights are battlemages.</P> <P>SKs are great soloers, but really crappy group tanks, so focus on doing damage. If you must be in a group, try really hard not to be the main tank. If you are forced to be the main tank, tell folks in advance that your taunts suck, so they need to hold off a bit else they will die.</P> <P>When you solo, use your pet at all times. Keep your lifetap up at all times. Use all your spells and arts. You can kill blue ^^^ heroics, but you will do it through your spells, not your melee, so focus on power regen and power pools.</P> <P>You should seriously try to do the PGT, manastone, and ghoulbane heritage quests in your 30's. Also do SBS and Screaming Mace in your 40's. For levels 1-19, you can wear generic crafted armor. For levels 20-29, you really should work on AQ armor. Levels 30-69 should be done with at least rare crafted armor (Faysteel, Ebon, Cobalt), especially if you can get a pre-nerf set of cobalt for 50-59. Spend money on armor, and get your spells/combat arts up to at least Adept 1 until level 50. If you can afford it, get masters for your harm touch, feign death, and lifetaps.</P> <P>Select racial abilities that increase and regen your power pool first,. Then pick traits that increase mitigation and health second. Don't worry about combat regen since your spells will take care of that.</P> <P>When you get to level 26, you will be able to farm named heroics in Fallen Gate or Stormhold. Make sure you don't miss out on this farming opportunity since it can fund your gear/spell upgrades for a while. When you get to level 46, you will be able to farm in Runnyeye. SKs are one of only a handful of classes that can regularly solo blue ^^^ heroics, so make sure you take advantage of this when you power level or farm.</P>

well this is my att's at the moment STR 82 AGI  49 STA 58 INT 18 WIS 30 so you can see I've been gettin my [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] handed to me, so I need to get my INT up higher correct?  at lvl 23 I'm working with a full set of Pristine Imbueded Carbonite Plate armor and Steel spear with Prinstine Imbueded Tower shield, and i have a few rings and braclets from my jeweler that are buffing my STR, I have on my CA about all either APP 4 or adept 1 or 3, I do have Adept 3 harm's touch and Master 1 Mallicious Touch in my bank waiting for me at lvl 34. also a SK's get pet's? I have my unholy horse that I got at 20 but I didn't know we got attack pets also? what lvl and cost is it? thanks for the help and any more that is given <div></div>

the pet is more like a dot with a fancy graphic that can be killed, its handy though with decent damage.try getting yourself an int imbued ring, and if its available some devout armour (not sure when its availabale, or if it can be imbued)also worth mentioning that spell/magic procs (anything that procs non melee damage) is good for us, as it works with our spell crit chance.other than that im half asleep as i jsut woke up, and im not really sure whats available to you at that level.

so get my INT up to the highest then my STR, also what lvl is this pet at cuase noone has said? I never really thought of INT for the SK cause when i started everytold me he was a tank <div></div>

<DIV>First, what are you wanting to do with your SK? We are a versitile class that has the capability to play many roles, but to be truly efficient at a particular role you have to focus your character around that task. The pet that they are talking about you get at lvl 26. For one of the replies to the OP, I'm sorry but we're NOT crappy group tanks or crappy tanks at all ty. It's going to depend on the player behind the keyboard more than it is the class. If you wish, either send me a PM here or just repost with your answer and I'll see what I can do about helping with a few tips =D.</DIV>

<DIV>Welcome to the Sk community.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You do want to improve INT, escpecially when you start doing your APs, you want to get the spell crit line, this will help your dps and aggro some.  It can be tough raising int at lower levels, due there isn't alot of armor out there with good INT on it.  But investing in intelligence potions can help, the non rare ones should be realitivly cheap.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As for where SK's stand:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Soloing - Very good, I would put us around 5th in classes</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Grouping - we are effecient group tanks, but aggro issues cause problems.  We aren't crappy, but we aren't the most desired either.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Raiding - I realize you aren't up to level on raiding yet, but figure I would throw this out.  We need a bit of work there, we are 4th on tanking duties at this time.  Hopefully will be adressed in future.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Its a fun class and you can do alot with it, despite what a few posters say here we aren't the "ubber" tank class, but we aren't as bad as a couple other posters state either.  The higher up you go the more you abilities you will get that will give you more a feel of the class.  At 26 the pet is a nice addition and at 50 you get the dispoil line that is a very nice mitigation debuff.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Good luck and hope you have fun.</DIV>
