<DIV>I watch other classes PVP and I get more and more frustrated. I group the majority of the time with a 70 Brig. The more I watch him fight the more envious I become of his ability to take down opponents fast. Even when an opponent flees he is able to cast his CA's while moving. I am tired of being in a fight having to auto attack to close the distance on the toon I am fighting. If I am fighting a scout and they engage with their ranged it takes me a 4 seconds on auto attack just to close the distance so I can use my melee CA's / Stuns (smash, slam, fetid smite, agony etc...) It gets very frustrating when 50% of my CA's are interupted just because I am trying to keep close to my engaged opposition. I have posted this before but I just wanted some thoughts on the matter. I watch the PVP videos of [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] / Swash / Brig's etc chase an opponent doing wicked damage. It would just make sense to me that fighter should be able to duplicate their efforts. </DIV>

<P>first off, we are tanks, we don't kill things fast.</P> <P>second, most of our dmg is from spells, not CA's. our CA's can be cast on the run, our spells cannot (same with mages). if u fight a scout, hit them with wrath to snare them. run up and stun. hit some spells, stun again, more spells. </P> <P>third, fighters are not meant to do "wicked damage." if we were, everyone would play a fight cuz they take a huge beating AND do a ton of dmg. that is completely unbalanced. be happy you play an SK and can outdps any other plate tank.</P> <P>forth, your comment about the 70 brig you group with. of course he can do lots of dmg on the run, rouges and predators are melee classes and use CA's, not spells.</P> <P>it makes no sense for tanks to be able to duplicate scout combat. if its so tiring for you, just role a scout.</P>

Just because we are tanks doesnt mean we dont kill things fast.... brawlers.... not meant to do wicked damage.... zerkers and brawlers. Not T1 dps, but certainly not something youd look at and say that dps sucks. Crusaders have absolutely no way to chase down an opponent in pvp. We have no ranged weapons, we have spells that get interrupted if we move less than an inch. Brawlers and warriors, they have ranged weapons that they can use while running. Rogues and predators are melee classes..... so are we. Tanks are melee classes. We are a hybrid class, melee and caster. A jack of all trades but master of none, except ranged weapons. People are gonna say "Thats why we have spells, to compensate for our lack of ranged weapons".... ranged weapons are not the same as spells. Ranged weapons use CAs that can be used on the move, spells cannot. Ranged weapons even do more damage than our fast cast spells. "But we have a snare"...yes a snare that has a REALLY long casting time. SKs have great dps for a plate tank, but zerkers can out dps us easily. I know people are gonna say "I have out dpsed a zerker before".... yes so have I, but they can do it easier than we can. <div></div>

I know people are gonna say "I have out dpsed a zerker before".... yes so have I, but they can do it easier than we can. <div></div><hr></blockquote>actually, because we are tanks means that we don't kill things fast. brawlers are a different story. this is very simple...SK's are not a melee class. we are about 80% spell damage. 20% melee hardly makes us a melee class. the melee arts we do have are also our lowest dmg abilities. yep...im a melee class alright. zerkers, guardians, brawlers are melee. their attacks do melee dmg.2 seconds is not that long of a casting time when you consider real mages. if you learn to play the class right, you should have no problem killing solo people. groups get hard cuz our lack of fast dps. but all tanks suffer from that, with the exception of brawlers. it is easy to outdps a zerker as an SK.when used strategically, our snare is an amazing tool. if u get smacked by a ranger or something, there's no rule that says turn around and throw a spell at them. run into their face, stun them, snare them...fight is over.can caster's nuke while running? no. why? cuz it would overpower them. chasing someone down while casting ice nova at them just wouldn't work. same principle applies to us. we are primarily caster's, therefore we abide by the rule of casters. if u don't like it, there are plenty of other classes to play that suit you. there is no reason to give us castable-while-running spells. its the flavor of the class and makes us different.</div>

Everyone says play your class right. Why do people assume when someone has problems its because he doesnt know how to play the class. Ill admit I havent been an SK since day 1, but when you get compliments form other tanks on your tanking ability then I know I am doing something right. You snare, run up then stun then proceed to beat them down.... Nice but every hit you make on the guy you have a chance of breaking the snare. Whats to keep them from stunning us after snare gets broken then ranging us to death? Ranged weapons come with ranged skills, and some of those ranged skills have an added interrupt effect. It sounds nice when explained. But trust me I have used this tactic before, I am not an idiot, its kind of common sense to try and snare someone to slow them down if you fear them running from you. But once you cast your snare its done with. The recast time is long as well as the casting time. If you break your snare and he gets away from you, he can range you to death. I have also used my pet to make sure when he does get away from me the pet can steal keep the dmg on him.I understand that we use spells to compensate for our lack of a ranged weapon. I understand we are a hybrid class that uses both melee and spells (yes I said both) we use both so we are both. I wouldnt call us casters because I define casters as classes that use high damage spells. We dont.No casters cant cast while running, but we dont have the spells that casters have. We dont have a bunch of big damage spells. We have 4 (counting legionaire) medium dmg ones and 1 sort of big dmg. As I stated earlier, a ranged weapon can put out more dmg then our fast cast spells and ranged weapon CAs can be cast on the run giving them extra damage and mobility. I am not saying that I cant beat a scout, brawler or warrior class because they can use ranged weapons and I cant. All I am saying is, it is damned annoying having to stop what ever I am doing just to do ranged dmg. Even more annoying when you know you couldve killed the [Removed for Content] if he didnt run away like a baby and you had no way of stopping him from doing so, because your snare was broken and he stunned you long enough to get far enough so I wont be able to catch him or use any spells. And yes I do use a wand as well from time to time. <div></div>
