Ok i'm a 27 SK about to make a jump to lvl 35 (and stop exp) and i've been doing my research on the available items, fabled, leg, mastercrafted etc, and the results don't make any sense to me...First of all, in complete and utter PvP unfairness scouts and only scouts can use the following:Et'sipe's Haubergeon of Undeath aITEM -2049776367 1223462191:Et'sipe's Haubergeon of Undeath/a-which when activated allows on a successful melee atk, 50% chance to inflict 200 damage and heal caster 100.-----SO then, what are the good items for pvp t4 that a plate wearing SK can use?at 35, the best helm is a... chain amor helm...Ancient Wyvern Hide Cap aITEM -1113492287 911596858:Ancient Wyvern Hide Cap/anot only is its mitigation higher than any plate helm below it, its stats are better as well... (268ish mitigation!)the best 1h weapon, being the only <=lvl 35 weapon that procs a heal is, gues what?, a duel wielding non-lore item:Mace of the Lifebringer aITEM 15548064 772213994:Mace of the Lifebringer/a-it procs a 255 heal 5% of timeand not only that, but:Tonlets of the Destined Soul aITEM 1140782593 -243582315:Tonlets of the Destined Soul/a-are a lvl 30 fabled plate foot peice and they only have... 204 mitigation... what-teh-[expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]?so can someone please explain to me what i'm missing? b/c it certainly Fuk1ng seems that the scouts have all the best peices and the plate armor doesnt even have decent mitigation. also, there are no good plate chest peices or even chain mail chest peices SK's can use to counter those scout ones (which in case you didnt realize allow any scout to effectively leech and/or heal themselves better than an SK is equipped to do. it really pisses me off.
Message Edited by xenocide85 on 08-01-2006 02:41 PM

Message Edited by xenocide85 on 08-01-2006 05:48 PM

step 1. get a guild with a decent number of 40ish players

step 2. Do searches in eq2 quest sites and look for nice armors and weapons

step 3. Plan out your equipment list and who in your guild to help you complete it.

if your too lazy for step 2. here are some hints

Do the HQ for Training is a Shield - 40 lvl kite shiled 810 protection legendary item

Get access to DFC Deathfyst citidel there are about 5 quests in there which give out a majority of legendary gear.

Namely "Burgler alert" Zek demo armor - Mitigation start at 300 req lvl 37

Hit List - same deal - drops from cloth to plate 3 random pieces of armor. So if you have a 2x 12 people and you all complete this quest chances are u will walk away with a full set of nice plate.

2 other quests for weapons not legendary but pretty decent.

Good luck

in the end to pvp at 20-35 and stop leveling you should be a scout... so level up your sk

Lol, I appreciate your replies but as to the DFC etc, i will do that and just for AA alone but i've already typed that I did not want to go higher than lvl 35 on my SK so all plate peices > 35 are out of the window.

To the 2nd guy, thus far i've pwn'd the [Removed for Content] out of scouts. My complaint is soley gear based. If you think your scout is better come fight me...

most gear isn't balanced, the games changed a lot since launch... and some stuff wasn't evena balanced back then, but a lot was added after through various live updates and zone revamps (a recent thing really) and the old stuff hasn't been touched.if you dont want to level past 35, your going to have to live with it untill something changes, or hope to find new items that aren't on the databases yet.

if you have owned scouts then they didnt have evac up, sorry bro but the title bearers of the low-mid levels are scouts. And I play SK and I own scouts too, unless they evac.

My sk finally ditched his lvl 30 fabled helm, when he dinged 50. The miti was higher than the one you listed. It was roughly +14 wis +14 int to boot.

i can check the databases again later when i get my computer back from the shop, but im almost positive that no fabled plate helms lvl 30-35 have higher mitigation than the 1 i listed. i went through and checked already and im almost positive about this. as for scouts and fame titles, ive seen a mid 30 dreadnaught SK and honestly, there arent that many mid 30 dreads on Nagafen at all. Also i've been at the top of the 20-31 champion ladder for a while and if i didn't solo pvp in addition to group rolling, i would have many fewer deaths and prolly would already be a dread. youre prolly right ab evac except what you also dont take into account is my HT. if i think someone is gonna run and esp if they are a fame kill, ill drop them with HT as soon as they are at 1/2 hp if they are below lvl 30. i mightwait til 40% hp if they are 34. Of course i debuff first, but my HT has hit for 1715 pvp on a evencon and a non-critical hit. most scouts, i think, dont evac until their hp is lower than 50%.

well i hardly tried to twink myself out back then, but i had aITEM -975110356 -2066601479:[Great Helm of Grelk]/agot server disco on it too...but i roled my SK as an alt, plyed it for fun, always liked the fighter mage style, but didnt and still dont like the whole concept.

oh well.. lol if you got a server first discovery item, what do you think the chances of me getting that item are? Aren't server/world discoveries usually extremely rare drops off usually normal mobs? it doesn't help very much to say that better plate helms exist when there are no real means of going out and at the very worst, farming for them...

Ok i linked your fabled plate armor helm and:

(1) it doesn't have more mitigation: 262 vs. 251

(2) the stats aren't better: +7 sta +13 wis +12 int vs. +8 wis +4 int

                                           +35 health +40 power +24 health +20 power

                                         +270 divine +270 mental +140 divine +140 mental

granted yours has a glyph that procs 5% +15.6 sta, that isnt even useful... its actually pretty sad that eventhough yours was a server first discovery, its still not better. im really disappointed still =

never actually said it was better, just it was the right tier. =/i think it was a server first as it was a newly added item. dropped from a named goblin outside of runny eye.in all honesty getting T4 fabled isn't as easy as T3, because FG and the FG vaults instance drop some pretty sweet fabled thats all newly added to the game, with good stats mostly appropriate to their class.regadless of what fabled exists in T4, your going to struggle to get hold of it.

Yeh, I agree fully on the scout/fighter chestpiece from RoV. If the fighter one GAVE power isntead of jsut drain it in a maddening pace it would actually be as nice as the scout one. Especially for sks, alas, its not. I still used it though. Why? Well, some fights end up in a very close tie, so both of you are oop autoattacking. And at that moment I can use the armor, get one extra lifetap and some dps+. Actually saved my butt about 20 times in pvp. It also has decent mit and stats, so while looking for the better ones its a good alternative.

Eluzay wrote:if you have owned scouts then they didnt have evac up, sorry bro but the title bearers of the low-mid levels are scouts. And I play SK and I own scouts too, unless they evac.

Actually, evac is a moot point when you have an attack that will kill them outright by the time they realize the fight went awry and hits it. Pretty much no scouts get away from me with evac. And as a sk, you can afford to let your health go down a bit to ruse them into staying thinking they'll be able to kill you. Works just as good as HT.

heh, no worries hopefully item balance for T4 will be addressed soon... possibly with the new "guild raids" and the armour being introduced through them.

Haha yeah, sorry again. You know, the thing I didn't take into account was that there are fabled recipies that drop from t4 raids as well as fabled crafting items which you can potentially use to make fabled armor, weapons, etc. However, I haven't seen these in the database and so I don't think anyones ever made them and while I've seen a crafting item here or there for 4-6p on the broker, i've never seen or even heard of a recipe dropping. Even more disconcerning is that I haven't found a guild with the capacitiy and will to do t4 raids =X.

t4 fabled crafting recipies dont existi have a fire opal glyph (fabled weapon item i think) sat in my bank, been there for over a year... totally worthless.every dev chat i ask if they are ever going to add the recipies, my question is never put forward or answered. it effects too few people for it to be worth their time i guess.
