At level 36 my mitigation is around 34% with my defense buff up. I have no problem holding aggro but I feel like I can't effectively stay alive for more than a few hits. What would a good mitigation percentage.

34% is not much .. thats more what scouts normally have .. with plate you should look to get around 45-50+ at least

hard to really give a definat answer due to mine being higher than would be considered normal...but i do think you should be able to get over 50% with all treasured armour from with a min level requirement on it of over 30, and with at least adept1 defencive stance.will edit in a sec, i have a 33 swash i'd like to see something to base my assumptions of.EDIT:ok his mitigation (at level 33) is 41.5% and his avoidance is 49.5%.he's mainly wearing feysteel but with a legendary item of some sort in each armour slot, and he's duel wielding (for now), and his stance is Master I.comparing the mitigation of treasured plate on the market you should probably be able get a better mitigation than mine, with silvril armour having about +20 mitigation on average more than my feysteel. but with lesser armour like the valewatcher stuff having equaly as much mitigation less than my chain...but anyway it really depends on how much you tank and your style of play. seems like handcrafted plate would leave you with about 35% avoidance, just keep your eye out for upgrades on both markets... its hard gearing a tank as armour is important and there is always a lot of competition.
Message Edited by Xanoth on 07-13-2006 11:47 AM

Well from what i see your using mostly quest or normal mob dropped armor. If you could get 6 cobalt and upgrade to all cobalt player crafted you should get into 50% or higher. Farm the roost and get the shield, helmet and boots then caza masa for 1 hand and belt plus many get in on some t5 raids and can hit 60%. Im a lvl 70 sk with 4898 mit solo can't remember the % but its above 60% and ive found it rather easy to get that high with the right gear and knowlegde of where to hunt.
