2 handers don't seem worth it

48 SK here.I'm sure I'm misunderstanding how things work in this game, but it seems to me that 2H weapons aren't worth it at all.  I give up the use of a shield, which gave me access to Shield Bash and extra avoidance.  In return I get a small 10% or so dps upgrade on my weapon choice (and this is on my autoattacks only?).In a 1v1 battle, it might possibly be marginally better (although I doubt it), but if I am being attacked by 2 or more mobs, surely having the extra avoidance of a shield helps a lot?  And since the most effective way for me to fight is to grab 3-5 mobs and AE them to death, a shield just seems so much better.What am I missing?<div></div>

<P>             Your missing the rare chance that your off tanking. Or in a raid just going for DPS. On those odd occasions I use a 2 hander, it's just very rare. Sometimes I even forget my 2 hander in the bank. :smileyvery-happy:</P> <P>               A few Sks in our guild do use 2 handers when soloing, but I have yet to find an amazing one. So I stick with my 1 hander and shield in most situations. There are some great 2 handed weapons out there, cruise the forums and you'll find em in the different tank areas. Hope that helps!</P>

<P>I use both 2H & 1H about equal amounts.  I tank of course with 1H & will use it on ranged fights in raids (symbol equipped to use lego smite).  I use 2H, cause you do hit harder & with melee crits, I'd say its over 10% in dps, more like 25%.  Using 1H, just gives me the shield stun, so no actual dps increase, so its definately not 10%</P> <P>It used to be different before one of the updates, when the Agony used to be 2H only to use.  Gives us more flexibility now, as thats a good attack.  Also, 2H are usually slower & you seem to crit more with them.  I have spell crit, melee crit max'd at 8 points, so this is a definate notice.</P> <P> </P>

Don't forget the style .. if you have a cool looking 2h sword its just more fun to use it .. if you just have a boring 2h weapon .. take whatever you think is better <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Wow really?? i only use 2 handed waepons, but i'm a damage hog. They have way better damage then the one handed weapons. I stick to greatswords, the only thing that came close was the rallosin steel swords and something i saw last night an ice reaver. I hit things with the blade of the harvester for like 211 a smack and that is with a human shadowknight with 213 str. I had a fabled flail that would do 500 a smack if it hit you, had bad swing time something like 3.8 seconds. You got the mit you don't need to avoid as much. With just dropped stuff i have a 1988 mit that does 47% damage reduction.

I didn't use Two-handers much til I hit 70.  Now I am almost exclusively using a 2H.  It helps to have the Qeynos Claymore (moreso than stats, the procs are both DEFENSIVE in nature -- kinda lame, but I guess it works if you wanna solo/tank using a 2H.)

If you have the chance get the Zang Fi Braided Segmenter, +48 str. +35 Sta, +20 Int, +110 to health, +85 to power, +7 to slashing, Dmg is 62-187, delay 3.0.   Every time i use this thing i'm doing 800-1k dmg per round, compared to the 500-700dmg i was doing with Blade of Desolation(that included procs from the sword). i think its one of the ebst swords in game right now <div></div>

I have a level 50 SK and have never, not even once used a sword and board. I have exclusively used a 2H axe from day one till I got the EBBC which has very decent stats and looks (I am partial to the axe!). I solo exclusivly except for some heritage quests and names (like the dragon in Commonlands which I MT'ed during my early 30's). I use the 2H cause I have never had an issue with damage as i use the master level ward all the time during battle. And in my humble opinion an SK with a 2H weapon is just bad [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]!

I use a 2hander, mostly because I am less likely to be picked as the tank if I have a 2hander. Used to be that there was a 2handed only CA, but that got changed at some point. I just personally love the look of claymores.
