I have a question...I always see Shadowknights (and other fighters I think) wearing cool plate armor that has the helm with the closed front face section and everything.I see this on anyone from people level 8 all the way to people who are level 20.I made a Dark Elven Shadowknight last night and I was suprised when I got my plate armor from a few quests and NPC armorsmiths and it was vastly different. The armor is smaller, more form-fitted, and the helmet has no closed face part... the helmet specifically looks completely different then what I usually see.Is this because of my race? And if so, will this always be an issue?I was looking forward to having my character look like the other Shadowknights I see with the heavy plate armor and closed visor...Any info on this? Thanks

Most of the plate above level 20 has that type of helm style. For the levels from 1-20 there are many types of plate. Best advice is to inspect a tank and see what the armor is called. Just hang in there, once you hit level 22 you will be praying for other armor types other than the closed face style Dull Dwarf Shadowknight of Venekor

Okay... so this is just a matter of the armor type, and not a scenario where the same armor looks completely different because of my race?ThanksI wonder where these level 10 guys are getting that cool armor...

The only plate helm that is open faced (that I'm aware of) will come again at 67 when you can get the class helm.

Btw.: The only reason to run around with a visible helm is if you play a Troll or Oger

Wierd.I've bought anout 3 sets of armor now and all 3 are the same style which have the open T-style slit for the face and none of the sets look like the set i keep seeing people with.i like the set that seems very popular around level 10-20 that is silver and bulky and has the closed face helm...on my dark elf the armor is very form fitted and looks more girly

The closed visor look on helmets you're referring to is vanguard plate crafted armor. I'm assuming that since you said you just created a DE SK that you're buying armor from the npc vendors. The npc bought armor and newb island quest reward armor is (junk) the t-style. Have an armorer make you some armor or craft some yourself.

EDIT: And all armor and weapons are scaled to your race. So if the armor looks big and bulky on a barbarian and small and thin on a dark elf, it's becausee dark elves are not a bulky race.

Message Edited by shagg22 on 07-08-2006 12:53 PM
