What race...? I'm a dark elf and have found a good Tier'dal translator that I usually use to pick a last name. My current last name D'Veldrin means "Of Shadows"...my enchanter in EQ1 had D'Zhaunil which is "Of Knowledge."

http://www.grey-company.org/Maerdyn/resources/translator/

My SK's last name is Darkstryder; I gave her the same last name that my original SK had in EQ1. And when my baby SK (also named Melime) on Sleeper is high enough, she'll likely be bestowed with the same.

Combo of SK and dwarf, eh? Cool. Some thoughts.... Shadowdepths (seeing as dwarves like living underground), Darkbrew, Shadowstone, Darkbrellion

I nominate this to be the dumbest thread ever ... just barely beating out the "what did everyone have for breakfast this morning?" thread.

I didn't take one. My SK is called Doomglaive and I liked it as a singular name.

However, if I did take one I'd find a word that I liked and translate it into a different laguange (eg for a mage - "Veneficus" means Sorceror in Latin)

L

My SK's name is Krillak Nokizuato. As sony has made no teir'dal language, and I noticed that the architecture at FG zone-in and nek forest gate looked oriental, I used japanese (which I am studying) for the last name

It roughly means "of scars"

mine carries over from EQ, "redleaf" yeah.. i was a tree hugger. but I made up a nice story surrounding how it came to be and it was slightly entertaining for those who cared to ask.

SkaterNooB wrote:
Any ideas? I was thinking something with shadow.. like shadowblade
you can borrow my assassins lastname. Shadowtouch. Works pretty well on a sk too.

Archatheus Dawnbringer - because it matches the guild name. I also had D'Lucan as a surname; thought that was a good one.

That Drow translator is nice for finding Dark Elf names. I got my surname (Mael`Dar) off that from the translations from dragon (maelthra) and knight (d'aron).

But this little guy's a dorf, so we need a dorfy name. Cabbagefinger made me laugh IRL. But being serious, the dorfs in EQ2 have names like Ironforge, Stormhammer, Frostaxe, etc., so maybe you want to think about something like that. I'd consider your deity, and what you like best about the class/character and try to come up with some combination that sounds both dorfy and SKish.
