Hey all,Just started playing again to give PvP ago (only played until lvl 10 way back at release). Played a 65SK on VZ in EQ and im slowly learning this EQ2 one, but i have a question which has been bugging me.I just hit lvl 16 and got what looks like an upgraded Def stance. But the thing is with the old lvl 4 stance i have 460ish mitigation and that absorbs 35% damage. When i put the new lvl 16 one on my mitigation goes up over 500 yet my absorbtion has dropped to 34.4% and shows up as absorbing 34% damage on piercing, crushing etc.No gear changes or anything like that, just clicking from one to the other. Why?I don't get it, my mitigation increases yet i absorb less.......If someone knows whats going on i would appreciate the feedback

mitigation % is based on your level vs mobs level, and requires a certain amount of mitigation to reach the same %

i think it equates to mob level x 80 = mit cap

so for level 16, you need 1280 mitigation to mitigate 80%

so the simple answer is that because you've leveled you need a higher mitigation to mitigate the same % of incoming damage.

Yes i understand that but nothing has changed. LvL 16 right now and i can switch between my lvl 16 def stance and lvl 4 def stance and the stats read that i have lost 1% absorbtion with the lvl 16 stance......even though my mitigation goes up by 40ish.I'm just curious as to why.....

In a nutshell, the game calculates your % by comparing it to a mob of your level. So if you didnt gain enough miti to compensate for the miti required against the next level, then the % will go down.

Everytone reread his post. He's not comparing level 15 mit to level 16 mit, he's comparing level 16 with the level 4 def stance to level 16 with the level 16 stance. That doesn't make any sense to me unless you have like the Master I of the 4 compared to the App I of the 16 or something bizarre like that.
