<DIV>Just courious... there are several threads a day in these forums about the best soloing class... most always mention the Pali as a very good choice if you plan on names and such due to the heals.... noone ever seems to mention SKs... why? Seems you have the dps that the palis lack... plus the lifetaps that would end up being just as useful as heals.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just courious why the SKs seem to be the red headed step child when there seems to be so much power and potential. </DIV>

I have spoken and played with pallies that can't solo as well as I can. I think the soloing aspect of it is a matter of playstyle though. Some would be more content with the healing capabilites of a pally as it would make you more comfortable going into situations and make you more prone to try new mobs. I personally like to run in and just destroy a mob while healing myself at the same time =P. Honestly though, I don't much care for others opinions on how well we solo vs. our counterparts. Leave us as the underdog. =P We'll still come out on top if we play our cards right.<BR>

<DIV>After reading all the posts on this first page of this forum I am also more taken back of how Zerkers stand up to SKs. As far as soloing wouldnt a SK fair better against harder mobs? Yet in multiple posts Zerkers seem to be godlike in compairison.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(thanks for the info and advice... I am just returning to the game after several months of rehab for kicking my EQ2 addiction)</DIV>

<DIV>I know this thread is about soloing, but I was just in a group last night (all 70s) who said they "have never grouped with a SK who tanked before" and they "couldn't believe how well I was doing".</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>SKs are good in pretty much all situations, you just need to prove it to people</DIV>

the lifetaps, dont really heal enough to takle named, a good test is to try kill KeelKrush or his mate the pirates in Fallen Dynasy. 67^^^ i thinkHe hits pretty hard and no amount of piddly lil lifetaps will helpbecause i took the int and wisdom lines im not huge on HP probably like 6k or soand when he hits for 2k a pop doesnt give much room for error.i find most named hit pretty hard, even in full fabled and full masters, it seems i always need 1 other personwhen it comes to normal mobs we do really well.<p>Message Edited by Pitt Hammerfist on <span class=date_text>06-21-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:15 AM</span>

<DIV>Soloing is a bit difficult, but i can duo awesome with pretty much any class in the game. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Me and a brigand usually are able to tak 95% of the mobs in PoA. Well, everything except the dragons. Who needs a healer</DIV>

<DIV>I have rarely had problems soloing since the tier I started having good armor (and I did a LOT of soloing even before that). Speaking as a 70SK in a high end raiding guild... I wouldn't change my class of my main toon for anything. I tank everything fine. I do have top gear (relic & t7 fabled/legendary & claymore line items) but even with T7 legendary only I would be fine. I also have nearly all master I spells, everything that has hate in it is Master I or II.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I get insulted when a guardian or pally joins the group and automatically is like, ok I'm here now, no more worries, you can stop tanking now. I have not had a chance to try tanking in T7 raids becuase we are set in the guardians must tank mind mode, if we have none the sole zerker or a higher up SK than myself on the totem pole will try. I have tanked everything in T7 but nameds in raid zones (including trash in relic farming).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yes, the agro is a little issue for us (though when I was set up for raid in relic farming I was fine holding it), but if we are lucky enough to have a dirge, assasisn or other hate dumping class things are much better.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(I am working on a brigand because in raids another tank is just taking up the slot of DPS. Also I find scouts very fun to play. I also have a 61 dirge, great for buffs but he's in crap gear and does low DPS.)</DIV><p>Message Edited by discord37 on <span class=date_text>06-21-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:13 AM</span>

<P>I've played a few classes and I have to say that I think SK's are one of the top solo'ing classes in the game. The lifetaps we get aren't near as effective as actual heal spells for healing, but also take into account that they do dmg to your opponent as well, thus kinda balancing that out. The lifetap ward we get takes a bit to cast but I live off it.</P> <P>As far as how I do? I do better solo than in a group. I can usually solo things 4-5 levels above me, not using anything but my own abilities. It's part of the reason I love my class as much as I do because my play style lends to soloing. However, SK's are both effective in and out of groups, it just takes a bit more strategy than the other plate classes.</P>
