View Full Version : Ahem, I respectfully withdraw some of the statements I said about the ShadowKnights.

Ok, so, many of you have read my previous post entitled "ShadowKnights", it was more or less a thinly veiled attack on our class, but while some of the issues I presented are valid, some of them were perhaps a little overblown. For example, primarily- The DPS vs Zerkers. Now, on a standard SK with no AA's its pretty acceptable to assume that Zerkers do better DPS, which they do. However: When you follow the INT tree, putting 8 points in INT, 4 in Legionnares Smite and 8 in crit%, the DPS.. really goes through the roof. I typically have to go easy on the DPS when grouped with a Guardian or Zerker because with it I WILL pull aggro. Our best bet for aggro control is our DoTs, when mastered & adept III'd, they truly are remarkable. I recently adept III'd Abominable Wrath which does 1000-1500 disease damage or so, and crits for 2,000 and with 80% crit, that basically means it crits all the time. But some issues still remain, such as when I loose aggro: it's gone, and I ain't getting it back without the aid of harm touch or rescue, mind you: In that sense most of our fellow players panic when they do get aggro and start overnuking, in fact the only class that actually ever seems to take the time to stop dpsing and deaggro are brigands, which is cool. <div></div>

<DIV>I was hoping that you and a few others would come to your senses honestly. This is a great class and has come a long way since LU13 my friend. As far as attempting to regain agro, if your buddies are over nuking when they do pull agro, let them die. Deagro's are their friend and FD is yours =D. My best tactic is for me to go in, tell my group to wait till I say attack, blow the AE taunt, HO with single taunt, blow through both DOTs (Misery and Circle Lines) and let them have at it. In the middle of the fight, I use Tap Veins and the agro is rarely lost. I have friends that know how to pull agro off of me. The brigiands best bet is to double up certian attacks or intercept right off of the bat. Without that, my brigiands don't seem to be able to pull agro off of me. My wizzy buddy, yeah, there is only one type of tank that can hold agro off of him and that's a pally. When we raid, we have so much deagroing on him that it's not funny. -_- But, it's because he knows how to play his class that he can do that. He can also push over 1K DPS on herioc mobs and NOT take agro with me tanking. Anything above that though, and he knows he has agro -_-. Such is the life of a DPS class though.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am glad that you are starting to understand a little better how great this class really is and hopefully the rest of those that argue that SK's are broken will come to understand as well. COME TO THE DARK SIDE LUKE!!!!! O_O</DIV>
