Greetings, everyone.I've been experimenting with tanks lately and I've been having a good time of it. However, after trying a monk for 15 levels, they simply aren't doing the sorts of damage I'd like. I'm not looking for scout DPS here, but I am looking to have good damage that makes soloing quick and fun. I was wondering -- is this the sort of DPS that Shadowknights can provide? Or will I not really find it in any of the fighter archetypes? I like the IDEA of a Shadowknight a lot, in that I think wielding a two-handed sword, smacking people dead, and then eating their souls afterwards sounds like an excellent career path. I just don't know if the gameplay is for me.If you have any advice I'd appreciate it!<div></div>

If a monk didnt have the dps for you...then maybe bruiser...but your not going to find it anywhere else really.  SK doesnt have the burst dps the brawlers have, its all over time for the most part.

<DIV>yea if you really wanna dps maybe a tank class isnt for you, but if your set on a tank class bruisers do pretty good dps along with zerkers.</DIV>

<DIV>Yeah, I will have to agree.  Brawlers have the better DPS and can solo well, but I still believe that we can solo quite well ourselves. Back in the day of cobalt armor, I was soloing tripple ups 3 and 4 lvls lower than me and did it quite well. Brawlers do have the better damage and probably can solo better than we can, but we're still a good candidate. If you want better, go brawler or summoner as they both solo quite well. My advice though, test them both out (us and brawlers that is) and see which you like beter. =D</DIV>

<P>I didn't feel like I was really doing much damage with my monk until about level 32.  After that it got a lot better.</P> <P>I have a friend with a level 70 monk.  He took the STR AA line.  Unarmed, no taunt procs on, auto-attack only his dps is so high he pulls aggro off a guardian going all out with taunts.</P>

It's a sad truth that ShadowKnight DPS truly isn't as remarkable as people make it out to be in the early levels. When you've gained some decent AA, gotten up to about halfway in your career and gone down the INT line, all the while pumping INT- Then you'll see the damage output of our class, however as I said: One really needs to stick with it to be able to witness the results. Being level 69 with points in INT & Crit%, I can safely say my DPS is extremely impressivel mind you: I also have some Adept III's so.. yeah. <div></div>
