<DIV>So, as I read it becomes clearer and clearer. We have no future in Raids, and we are weak in groups with poor aggro. Let me just evolve then and ask how the betrayl works? If I betray will the mobs not all be grey (since it was designed for lvl 17? (Gnolls, the named in BB?) If so when I switch i become a full pally, do I lose my armor/weapon and does all my equipment get knocked down to AP1? </DIV>

<DIV>You should perhaps read all the numerous other postings out there on betrayal and the exile system. As for your feelings on the Shadowknight class in general, I couldn't disagree with you more...and I know there are numerous others that would agree with me. If you think the grass is greener on the other side then go ahead, but I guarantee you that Paladin has its own issues and I sincerely doubt you'll be happy.</DIV>

All your armor is tinted in pink after betrayal, and you are doomed to wear it for the rest of you live <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>I'd have to agree with everyone here. Go look at the pally boards and see their problems. IMO the only thing pallies have going for them is amends. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yes you can betray. All spell lvl get reset to AP1. New quest lines have been created for the betrayal. You have to talk to 2 new specific NPC within the city to do so. </DIV>

Paladin usually is OT in the MT group. Helping with ward, mitigation, buff, and heal. If not in the MT group a Paladin can be an OK healer or hate reducer (amends). I wouldn't call them really popular though. SKs can do good damage and most of the same OT kind of skills with lifetap support. If you want a gaurenteed needed class play a defiler, brigand, dps, or dirge/troubador.One thing is for certain; crusaders aren't usually asked to be the MT in a raid. Why choose a tank with significantly less HPs for that role?<div></div>

Odd I would say our raid usefulness just improved. After all now mobs are just very resistant to (x) dmg type. Get a few debuffs on that hard to disease mob and have at em! As for the rest, the classes are very based on player skill and the age old equipment/skills. I MT 95% of the time in guild groups, PuGs..pretty much anything. It's really a matter of knowing your class and letting others know how your class works. Betraying to a Paladin will not change much for you if you cannot play well. If you need help read the boards or ask a higher lvl/more experienced SK on your server for advice. I bet with a few tips you'd be rocking and loving your SK again. If not, well let us know when your post-op since we all know Paladins come pre-spade/neutered. :smileytongue:

Why is it that paladins think they are healers??? Almost every group I have been in that had a Paladin in it, the pally always says, "I will help out with heals." And my response is usually "Please leave the group, I dont need you to "help" on heals. That is why we have a healer in the group." What the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] is up with you idiot paladins thinking that your a healer. I have never said "Go grab a pally, I feel we might need another healer." And theres a good chance me, an SK, can heal myself better than any pally can ever heal me.<div></div>

I don't know why you are angry. Posting about being angry just detracts from your point, IMO.Paladin ward can be ~2000 at M1 T7. Group heal is ~1000/each instant at T7. Single heal is also around the same. Emergency heals can be substantially higher, about ~5000 total. How is that not a good utility? I don't think anyone confuses paladins with a real healer. Heck even a dirge probably heals better!

If you wanted to be needed in Raids .. like said before .. play a Healer or Brigand .. if you want to play a Tank Class that make fun and also can do some nice dps while tanking .. or is a good solo class .. play SK .. if you want to .. hm.. i don't know what .. play Pala <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><p>Message Edited by Beldin_ on <span class=date_text>06-23-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:19 PM</span>
Let me put a preamble here first, I just betrayed my alt paladin (former main) to SK at lvl 59. I play a 70 dirge as my main. Few clarifications here: as an SK, you can't heal better than an Paly. Dirges get one heal that targets another player, oration of sacrafice, and it's a life transfer, useable once every 45 seconds, really only good to boost up the MT in a tight spot. As the previous poster said, paly's get a single target heal, a single target ward, a group heal, and a targetable hot heal useable every 30 minutes. When a paladin says "I can help heal" that's just what means help. They don't mean "We don't need no stinkin' healer, I'm l33t healer yo!". Having one healer in a group, and a paladin to backup and fill gaps makes the healers job a ton easier. In my time as a paladin, I've had TON's of healers say thanks for making their job just that much easier. Just like SK's, paly's bring a couple abilities to the table, semi-decent dps, tanking ability, heals, and hate decreasers. SK's bring much better dps, tanking ability, and better debuffs. I never understood this hatred between SK/Paly, opposite sides of the same coin, each class excells in an area where the other lacks really. The only reason I betrayed to SK is because my guild has a ton more Paly's than SK's and I'd rather be more offensive than defensive. Just hope I was able to give a bit of clarity on someone who's been on both sides of the fence. <div></div>

Don't come here and bother us with the questions honestly. They have some problems just as we do as others have said. If you don't think that we have a future in raids then you don't have that much to look foward to with our coutnerparts. Personally, I have a position in raids wether I wanted to MT or not. If I don't want to MT for a raid, I'll just sit back and pump out some DPS and let everyone enjoy my group buffs if I'm in the MT group. =D That, and dude, seriously. Would you give up the capability of being able to freak out someone in a raid with our FD to become a flower carrying dumbed down templar with taunts? O.o Your choice though bro. I'll continue to enjoy my SK and my raids. =D
