View Full Version : Toolbars confusion
HelloSorry for such a basic question but I'm getting rather confused with toolbrs and wondered how other SKs organised theirs? Currently I've got 4 bars active but am wondering if I should delete older skills from the same line or keep em for emergencies (they seem to recharge quicker) or build role specific bars ( one for soloing, one for tanking etc). How do you SK old timers sort yours?<div></div>

<P>Just a young shadowknight here, but my main is level 63...so I have some playing experience. I'm a decent touch typist, so I put all my combat arts and spells on my main hotbar; AoEs or spells I don't want to hit by accident (evac for instance) go on my second or third hotbar so I have to hit ctrl or alt to activate. I put all my buffs together on one of my secondary hotbars (easy to find if I die and need to rebuff) as well as the single target buffs, call to freeport or other utility spells. </P> <P>I always drop spells from the hot bar as they become obselete. Now that the mentoring has changed, I can't really see any good reason to keep them around. </P> <P>I use /assist [tank's name] targetting if I am not the MT. I put this on my hotbar in the number 1 spot and use it to assist. If I'm soloing, this spot goes to the spell that starts my HO. I move my HO key down to a secondary hotbar when I am grouped and then just mouse click it when needed.</P> <P>I also put all my Master CA (orc, giant, etc.) together on one hotbar, but then switch them up to the main hotbar when I'm fighting that particular mob. </P> <P>Hope this helps...it works for me.</P>

I use 5 hotbars for all my chars .. the first 2 are normally the main combat arts .. the third mostly shorttime buffs .. things like manastone and some arts i don't use that much .. the 4th are mainly conc buffs and some stuff .. the last some masterys and weapons, shield etc.

<P>It realy depends on your playstyle, I have upto 10 Hotbars up on my screen. mainly for orginazation purposes and don't like the clutter look, so each is not full.. But i Macro spells to the Keyboard as well. </P> <P>If your looking for speed, the keyboard will be the fastest, if you can keep track of em all, other wise to do what your most comfortable with. </P>

<DIV>i have 8 hotbars open. 4 at the botom center of my screen, with my main combat arts on them, and 4 top right, with evac, call for help and more utility type things up there out the way.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>my main combat hotbars are all sorted by HO symbol. so on my first bar i have all my sword and taunt abilities.</DIV> <DIV>second bar is foot and fist</DIV> <DIV>third is muscle</DIV> <DIV>4 as above with more spaces.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>scattered throughout are AA abilities, macro's and my HO starter.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>it just makes life easier and i do thisd with all classes. i've spent a lot of hours in total designing an interface layout jsut to scrap it a few days later and start again. im pretty happy with my current setup and it works for all archtypes, which some of my others haven't.</DIV>

does no one else keep around a lower level spell for emergency? at 44 I have a few lower lvl spells like my vitae and smite and coil for those times when I am OOP and it seems like each second counts in a hardy battle. I'm pretty sure Ive saved myself a few deaths by having those handy. anyone else do this? <div></div>
