Just wanted to get your thoughts on how the two classes stack up in PVP? You can include the Monk as well if you would like. (Better tanks, 1 vs 1, DPS, Defense, etc....) Thanks for your info.

Message Edited by Ramglobal on 05-26-2006 07:15 AM

I have a 44SK and a friend played a bruiser to 47 on Nagafen.

From our experience the Bruiser was just all round better for fourteen minutes then HT is back up and for whatever fight takes place while its up the SK is better .

I couldn't disagree more. Sks are one of the best in a one on one PVP fight, with or without HT (personally I never use it in duels). The key is to cast your ward before the fight starts, knock them down, and then put your pet on them. After that just unload everything on them. Be sure to use your lifetaps. I'll generally still have 70% of my health left after a duel against an equal level opponent.

I have seen that type of answer before , I have a real problem believing it. It could be im crap at the game. It could be im only 48. It could be I dont have multiple Plats to give me the best armour and many Master/ADIII spells. However without HT , I find SK DPS poor even in Offensive stance and find that in Off stance Most classes (Ranger/Conj etc) can [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] me quicker. Now with HT I only have to get them halfway then Boom.

I would love to know how you beat all these classes if they are equal in terms of skill/spells/ca's and equip.

Most of my spells are adept I, and my gear is only average. Conjurors and Necromancers can be tough, but it is already well known that they are over powered and will be fixed soon. As for the scouts, your pet is the key for dealing with them. Most of their damage requires them to be sneaking and/or behind you. Your pet will keep knocking them out of stealth, generally before they have a chance to hit you. Most importantly, stay moving! Do Not let them get behind you! As for rangers, stay in tight. Do not let them get far enough away to use their bow. This is where having a fast connection makes things easier. If your connection is slower than their's you're at a serious disadvantage.

I generally use sword and shield with an offensive stance for dueling. This will allow you to use your shield bash so you have two knockdowns. Use the time while they're down to recast your ward or pet as needed. Use your knockdowns as often as possible. Be sure to use your group taunt as well, it has a pretty good disease debuff.

Sorry, dueling is not really pvp, since you know exactly what class you are going up against ahead of time you can prepare yourself mentally as to which skills/spells to use in what order.

In pvp theres that initial [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] just hit me disorientation (specially when a swashy or monk sends you flying and your screen is all blurred, and you had something else targetted so you have to clear your target and try and acquire who just hit you, which sometimes is multiple people) and in that time burst dps classes can have you past half health with direct damage skills/spells while we are trying to start whittling them down DoT's.
