Untill recently to become a Shadowknight you would start as a commoner, become a fighter at level 3, then choose the path of the crusader at 10 and Shadowknight at 20 (Paladin if you were from Qeynos).

So Shadowknight was a subclass of Crusader, or Crusader was a subclass of Shadowknight. Depending on your view.

Now you can choose to be a Shadowknight at level 1, so your automatically a subclass of the Fighter class.

Message Edited by Krastus on 05-17-2006 07:29 PM

At release and for a long time the way someone leveled up was to:At level 1: Pick an archetype: Fighter / Priest / Mage / Scout. If you picked Fighter then at level 10 you could pick a class:Warrior / Brawler / CrusaderOnce you picked crusader you picked a subclass:Good - PaladinEvil - ShadowknightSo shadowknight IS the subclass Just doesn't apply anymore because they got rid of all the other steps involved.

The AT is fighter. The class is called crusader and the subclasses are shadowknight and paladin.
