<DIV>Well, after some growing pains when I first started out with him, my little ogre shadowknight is turning out to be quite a bit of fun.  I've gotten him to 18 in a couple sessions of play and into some decent gear and spells.  And now I can see why people like playing this plate tank class.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was thinking I'd like to go berserker for my plate tank alt.  But, I've always wanted to try out an SK.  It turns out, I made the right choice.  We have an interesting selection of spells, combat abilities and buffs.  I never realized SK's taunts did damage and debuffed resistances.  And I love the fact that we can heal ourselves as we do damage to our target.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My only complaint is my damage shield locking me into an encounter when I just want to run through it and not worry about it.  Yeah I can just yell it off but it's annoying.  Also makes prox pulling difficult since the damage from the damage shield will make the surrounding encounters want to come play too.  Now I understand why my guild's MT paladin complains about damage shields on a raid hehe.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But overall, I can say I'm pleased with the versatility of a Shadowknight.  I've soloed a bit, played in small groups and done some dungeon crawling with a full group as tank.  I've performed well in all scenarios.  I can see this is an alt that will get some play time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Have fun.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Sheesh, now that I'm level 20 and in carbonite armor, fir shield and a nice 1 handed slasher with an 18ish damage rating.  Alot of app2s still but quite a few adept1s.  WOW... just wow.  I never expected this kind of solo performance from a plate tank.  Incredible damage output combined with a load of survivability.  I like it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

It only gets better from there.  Youll get a few more skills as you lvl up. two of my favorite skills are death march and tap veins.  They work great when killing large groups of mobs.<div></div>

We are definately the best solo-ers of the plate tanks.  Glad you are enjoying it.  I am as well. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<DIV>Our problems generally do not rare thier ugly heads until later in the game, when the other classes we have to work with start producing some crazy hate. </DIV>

After playing for a few months, trying different classes, getting frustrated, erasing, trying again, erasing, etc, etc... I had the worst case of altoholism, trying every class through about level 12 or so before my eyes would wonder again. However, the last time I made an SK, I kept him and made myself fight the altoholism to get him level'ed. It was about when I got my SK to 22  when it hit me, like a lightning bolt. Haven't even thought about a second toon. He's 26 now and still going strong. I have seen the darkness, and it is... good. <div></div>

<P>once you hit lvl 26 you will start to realize the real potential of the sk, one you hit lvl 40 you will see about 75% of what an sk can really do, once you hit lvl 44 you well jump for joy when you , not the scout in the group, saves the group from certian death when you use your evac, and when you get tap viens you will almost be invincible when that healer starts nodding off at the keyboard. </P> <P>enjoy your sk, and you will see a big difference if you get all your spells to AT LEAST all adept 1. and keep your gear upgraded.</P>

<P>I am with you guys. When i started playing EQ2 i went thru the worst case of Altoholism ever trying to find the right class for me. It was hard and apparently i am a very picky person. Sorry to say, i really don't like a lot of the classes in the game.</P> <P>Stealth is really not my bag so all the scout classes are out(yes i tried a couple out to make sure).</P> <P>I made an illusionist and really hated him, then i tried a warlock and didnt like him either! LOL!</P> <P>However, before the flaming starts, the classes i did stick with i love!!!</P> <P>I have a Monk and a Fury and like playing them both a lot. I have only played Qeynos so far and have not tried any of the Freeport classes.</P> <P>I have read a lot about the SK here and am thinking of making one for my Freeport alt. Also the Necromancer looks pretty cool so i might try that out also.</P>
