Your looking to much into nothing. This spell was broken I could get hit for max damage if I ever use it. This isnt meant for anything but that it wasn't working properly. It just means paladins and SK would benefit more by using this, if your gona attack this spell what about the armament line?

It may be a significant percent, but it has a significant recast and not something I would want to rely on. I'll take life taps over that any day.

Crusaders have always been excellent offtanks, and many of the recent changes have not only improved this but have made us able to be viable backup tanks as well. In a raid we almost always have either a Shadowknight or Paladin in the MT group to provide additional avoidance and mitigation as well as to help heal. While Paladins do have the advantage in healing power, SKs have an advantage in aggro generation. Since our mitigation transfer now drops if our target dies we can take over tanking with a rescue pretty quickly in a raid environment. This ability is only going to make all tanks stronger in offtanking, but if it is going to use the mitigation of the interceding tank, plate tanks will most likely benefit the most. This is not to say that we are not designed to be the MT. For non-raid situations a Paladin/SK combo is incredibly strong. Seems strange, yes, but they complement each other very well. In fact I have duo'd with a paladin frequently.

Think that's definitely reading a bit too much into it. The skill in question is shared by other Fighters (In fact Guardians have an even more extensive bunch of variations) and this boost will be great for any plate tank who is offtanking - will actually make the skill usable against creatures who would otherwise hit hard enough to one shot us if mitigation wasn't being taken into account.

This is all good news.

I think you are reading to much into it as well. The Guardians have a more defined line of skills based upon this and the fact that the damage was unmitigated had made the entire skill line useless. I'm glad they are fixing this. Now guards can shut up about being broken.

Maybe going out on a limb here.. and since this is related to the next LU .. I notice we will not be stunning Epic Encounters (From how im reading it).. Now I primarily use stun - Tuant to get a big mobs aggro, will this further put us down the chain on Aggro gain with epics inadvertantly ?

People are already putting a blind eye to sks as tanks.. Now with this type of effect on a change is only going to make it worse ..

Halls of Fate and Vault of El'Arad (or whatever) have mobs that do primarily disease damage. They hit incredibly hard too. Having a tank who can self buff up to 7k disease makes these encounters a lot easier. Of course I tend to have a little more trouble holding aggro vs. primarily disease based mobs since they've a higher resist to our taunts and most of our damage spells and combat arts. I would argue that a Shadowknight is the best way to go when tanking HOF.EDIT: Oh yeah. I tank Labs sometimes as well.

Message Edited by Milaga on 05-11-2006 03:07 PM

This was more to open groups and raids that are about .. aka had an open raid on a mob not long ago and since no pallies and guards where around, and only sks, they decided to go with bruiser and zerker tanks .... even though the mit was less...
