Choose what AA line your going to be in, and then make your big purchases off that.

That being said, the best weapon you can have is the one that's in your hand. Don't limit yourself to one weapon, get all your skills maxed, slash, crush and piercing (spears only here). When fabled weapons drop, you don't really wanna be to picky .

I like Swords :smileyhappy:

1-hander and Shield is a "must" when tanking. I like two hand swords when going for damage.

Two ways, either faster lower damage weapons or slower big damage weapons. Faster weapons mean more chances for procs to go off, which is a plus.

Best weapon imo is the axe. AA STR line gives you hate increase and 2 speed increases. Combine that with the int line and now you can tank better and nuke like crazy if not tanking. Can't go wrong. Frostwrath or Ascendent ftw!!

If I recall correctly, the faster weapons will proc less then a slower weapon. Since they changed the melee procs to set off by speed time of weapon * proc percentage. However I am not 100% sure on this one. I believe this change is suppose to happen for spell procs as well in the future.

Could someone else either verify this or correct me if I am wrong?

Axtually, it's the contrary. Proc chances are normalized on a 3 s delay for weapons. It's a linear approximation that's is rather false on the wide spread of delays that exist (1.2s for the fastest weapons to 8s for the slowest i saw). Rule of thumb : slower is better when it comes to procs.

Ok, can SK's even use scythes? Because I am level 42 and have yet to see a SINGLE scythe for sale on the broker or from anywhere. I also have noticed that none of my AA lines have a scythe class weapon? So can SK's even use scythes? do they fall under a different weapon class in AA?

Because if an SK is not able to use scythes, thats like saying a mage can't use staves, they just go together so well.

A couple we can use are the Tainted Reaper and Ribcage Scythe (tried posting links, but forum keeps eating the post). Some are classified as staff, others are spear, and maybe even sword on others?

A while back, I looted a decent scythe in the 40's range off one of the spectre mobs in the Sinking Sands - to the left of the docks.
Message Edited by Drakkonius on 05-01-2006 03:20 PM

That's the Spectre's Scythe....there is another pretty good one, Ancient Spectre's Scythe, that I saw on the broker last night.

Pseudo-funny story about being an SK and wanting a scythe: So back in my upper 20's a group of guildmates, my g/f and I head down to tear through Vault of the Fallen and kill Tseralith (back when there was no lockout for killing him). So we commence to whoop his [Removed for Content] and he drops the Tainted Reaper (FABLED scythe...good melee stats). All mages, Bruiser, Monk, Guardian Berserker....so I'm thinking [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]?!?! Shadow Knights can't use it....how crap is that. Anyway, we go back in and whoop Tseralith again...another Reaper drop. Third time's a charm....ANOTHER Reaper drop. So the two Bruisers, Necro (my g/f) all get their scythes and are flaunting them in front of me.

Fast-forward about 10 levels and a few patches...the Tainted Reaper is changed and now is SK equippable!!! By this time, my g/f and I can duo Tseralith, so we go down and probably do 30+ runs at Tseralith to the point he is super green and very close to greying out. No Reaper drops, we get tons of Masters...and everything else he drops. Over the course of a week of farming him, FINALLY the Reaper drops and I'm happy. Still keep it in my inventory just because...heh :smileyvery-happy:
