What is the use for pariahs brand?

<DIV>i have pariahs brand at adept 1 and it does 113-189 damage and 23 damage every  3 seconds for 9 seconds. Now my question is, why do we get a combat art line that seems useless? its a spell line that maxes out at 57 so it didnt get an upgrade in KoS, but i mean come on, my auto attack does  more damage than that ability!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yeah, i know you can stack it with coil and pestilence , but the damage is still piddly for keeping hate or doing damage, ive done the /feedback command and suggested it be changed into a hate generation buff, cause as of right now the whole spell line is not very useful. 8-/</DIV>

<P>It's not that bad when you look at the damage per power (DPP). Compare it to a spell like Loathsome Anger (level 55). My master 1 does 269 - 449 damage (359 average) for 67 power. That's 5.36 DPP (It's 6.40 in offensive stance).</P> <P>My Pariah's Brand (also M1) is 157 - 261 instant (209 average) plus 38 three times over 10 seconds. That's 323 average damage total for only 46 power. That's 7.02 DPP if it runs its full duration. <P>Also when you are using a slower two handed weapon, with some practice you can pop it between swings which gives you another attack.  Would I personnaly like to see it upped a bit ... Yes.  But it can be usefull in certain situations.</P> <P>BTW mine is master 1 (was farily cheap on broker).</P>
