Need help with Pet questions!!!!!!!

I am a level 42 SK.  I had up to 140 tainted essences in my inventory so I could use my pet pretty much whenever I choose to.  I saved them as well as I possibly could and only used them in certain circumstances.  I recently got cursed caress and I am down to 118 essences and I do not think I have manufactured one since.  What am I doing wrong?  Do I have to get rid of all my tainted essences before I get new ones?  Can someone please explain.  I spent a lot fo money to upgrade my pet spells and its very valuable in PVP. <div></div>

<div></div>You should be getting some. You don't get any if you don't tank though, so maybe you have been just the for dps in groups for a bit? Check your other bags too. And make sure your new Caress is actually on. Other then that, there's not much i can tell you, if you're really not getting any its a bug. Tainted Essences are the same no matter what spell you use to get them, so you definetly don't need to destroy the ones you have.

<div></div><p>This seems to be an issue, quite often.  I swear it cycles itself every week or so.  One week I'll be in the 150+ & use it whenever.  The next week, I'm down to 70 & the next raid, I'm down to 20.  Then suddenly I start gaining them again.  It doesn't seem to generate more with green to yellow, to grey mobs.  AE's don't seem to generate more either, as the mobs die so much quicker, that they aren't alive long enough to be in a "special" window to get one too.  I've found no discernable pattern to it.  I thought it was patch related, but even that seems to not mean anything.</p><p>If things go as normal, you'll be back to having a bunch again.  Worse case scenario, you can do what I did & go down to some zone find a triple up grey mob (so it has lots of hps, but won't actually kill you) & go afk, after you autoatk it & turn off your procs, but keep caress up.  I'd go make dinner & periodically come back to see if it was dead or to snag another one, if it was nearing death.  If I remember correctly, I used the rotting sewerfins (sharks) in edgewater drains off FP sewer zone down at the bottom.  I did this for half an hour & came out with 30.  I did this, cause I had a raid to go to later, so wanted at least more than 9 that I had before I started this heh.  I'm not sure if this is practical for you, due to lvl, but I'm sure there's somewhere you can find some mob applicable.  It wasn't too much a burden for me, as I had to eat lol</p>

You might want to check the broker as well.  Sometimes you can find them there, and they usually aren't very expensive.<div></div>

<div>I used to sell my tainted essence on the broker, but now that I have experience along with some SKs, the way it fluctuates I choose just to save them. On a good day I will grab maybe 50+ tainted essence I keep the 50 and bank the others. Since I am in a raid guild and use the pet A LOT in raids, its always good to have extra in the bank just for those kinds of occasions where you know youll be using a lot.</div>
