<div></div><div>I have a 48 Monk atm and i love the class, I solo 99% of the time and she has done me proud. However i have some friends that are now playing and i quite fancy a change while they catch up or i can catch up a 2nd character with them and i really do liek the sound of the SK.</div><div> </div><div>From what i have read already SK's can solo but can anyone comment on survivability and DPS compared to a Monk? Do SK's shine on multiple mob encounters and not so on single mobs? </div><div> </div><div>Thanks in advance.</div><div> </div><div>Oh and what is the best player made armour (legendary tier 1-7) called? And is it right that 2HS is best for solo play?</div><p>Message Edited by waldazie on <span class="date_text">04-03-2006</span><span class="time_text">06:15 AM</span></p>

<div></div>My advice, from a low to mid-level (36) SK:<blockquote><hr>waldazie wrote:<div></div><div> </div><div>From what i have read already SK's can solo but can anyone comment on survivability and DPS compared to a Monk? Your AoE/Encounter DPS shines with your lifetap shield, but with the dumbfire pet and most of your CA/Spells, you are really best vs SIngle targets. Beat one down, go to the next, who is at 50-80% health due to beating on you, and repeat.</font></div><div><font color="#ccff00"></font> </div><div><font color="#ccff00">All this, however, is very much dependant on gear and spell quality. Monks can get away with a bit less attention or coin spent on gear. SKs cannot, IMO.</font></div><div> </div><div>Thanks in advance.</div><div> </div><div>Oh and what is the best player made armour (legendary tier 1-7) called? Ebony, Cobalt and Xegonite later on, but I know I'm missing a Tier in their somewhere.</font></div><div><font color="#ccff00"></font> </div><div><font color="#ccff00">Sword and board for solo - more of your dps comes from spells than CAs, and your shield offers additional stun. The extra dps from a 2-hander, IMO, is not worth the extra stats, mitigation, and so forth. If you like 2-hander for style points, you won't hurt yourself using one, however. </font></div><div><font color="#ccff00"></font> </div><div><font color="#ccff00">Also, rare metals for armor cost more than rare hides (ie, monk), so expect to pay more for your rare armor unless you harvest yourself. Have fun, and if you go SK, remember - kill a puppy a day.
