Greetings. I'm new to Freeport and the Shadowknight, and I'm wondering what the main differences are between a Shadowknight and a Paladin. Is the Shadowknight more geared for damage while the Paladin is more geared for defense?Opinions?Much Thanks.<div></div>

<div></div><p>Paladin's are more geared toward healing / aggro generation / buffing. They get a rez and better power pool in offensive stance.</p><p>SKs are built towards damage / debuff. We get evac. With the excetion of a reactive "ward-style" lifetap, our heals only work on ourselves.</p>

<div></div><div></div>One single MAINEST difference between Paladin and SK in BOTH ERA (EQ1/EQ2) is lay hand vs harm touch. <div>It does appear to be a matter of offensive vs. defensive. Just a few comparissons as I don't play a paladin and only know a little of the class:</div><div> </div><ul><li>Harm Touch vs. Lay on Hands (Nuke vs. Heal)</li><li>Tainted Sacrament vs. Blessed Sacrament (Dumbfire pet vs. Heal)</li><li>Infernal Blessing vs. Demonstration of Fait (A "life-tap" ward vs. a damage absorbing ward)</li></ul><p> </p>

Paladin offensive stance has +STR (which improves power pool) and +INT (doesn't improve power pool, but just mentioning it is there), Shadowknight instead gets a massive boost solely to INT.</div>

<div>and if one's so concerned about the str lacking we have siphon might.</div><div>(take that massive int boost over a smaller int/str boost anyday)</div>

There was nothing wrong with his question. Paladins and Shadowknights are suppossed to be the antithesis of each other, but your answer isnt exactly accurate. The Warrior and the Cleric vs. Warrior and Necro answer. Is the Cleric or the Necro more offensive or defensive. I play a Shadowknight, and I played a Paladin for awhile. I have to say, the "Pansy," class in your words seemed to do better.
