lol, Yeah I just read this from the offical post by blackguard, and either we were overpowered (all tanks in general) and we were killing way to fast, or our ability to solo and take damage just took a major hit with the nerf bat.

also if accessories no longer have any mit then I guess that we are truly the only branch that can take damage, (aside from some scouts and the heavy armored healers) which I guess does define us as fighters, still I cant wait to see how this affects other classes.

I admit I don't play on test, but from what I've read we seem to of gotten bent. The idea I thought was to take away our DPS and give us defense, so that we could fill our role and basicly out last the mobs in the solo area. From what I've read soloing is now gone basicly and heroic mobs can one hit us ... In a group. Seems a bit harsh, hopefully they will fix this. To be honest I never could solo heroics except for some green ones, so I never was one of the Shadow Knights soloing yellow heroics. If I try a blue heroic he/them steal my lunch money and smack me around.

If I am over reacting to this news someone please correct me, Thanks

Blackoath

Message Edited by Margen on 09-07-2005 09:23 PM

Just another trick to nerf Plate classes more. Read the changes more carefuly and see who will get hurt the most. To me the sentence :

The base mitigation value of kite and tower shields has been reduced to 10%

reads as Tower or Kite Shield = Round Shield. Maybe my Templar wife would loan her uber Buckler to me now ?

Message Edited by Nazowa on 09-07-2005 11:50 PM

Message Edited by Nazowa on 09-07-2005 11:54 PM

On beta i was able to solo even con ^^^ heriocs. That isn't right i guess. Now the nerf, it nerfed all classes. /ooc is full of complaints since it happened. I was only able to test it for a few hours but it seems like there is more of a problem with multiple mobs. Me and ranger and a bruiser of lvl 51 (all with above average gear) were taking turns solo'ing stuff and could barley take two even down arrows with the ranger getting killed when the second mob was down to low health. Blackgard was actully on watching and observing and all 3 of us were able to take (just barley almost died) white ^^ herioc mobs that he spawned for us to try. The system still needs tobe tweaks and i expect some tweaks on next patch. But what makes me nervous is DOF launch is comming up soon dunno how ready it will be before then. These changes do change alot.

The increased mob damage is what nerfed all classes. The other 4 changes? that just nerfed people on the front line even more.

am I the only one who read

The base mitigation value of kite and tower shields has been reduced to 10%

to mean that either duel wield or 2 hand wield or die? Specifically because we unlike pallies dont get any bonuses to our shield use?

And I already have my 1 handed prismatic, at least I was never lucky.... err unlucky enough to spend some pts on those real nice Zalak dropped shields.

I really dont have any 2 handers worth anything, makes me think I might have to start that ebbc quest

From slightly later patch notes:

*** Combat Changes ***

- Focus will automatically train to the max skill level for old characters that did not previously use focus. This should reduce the amount of interrupts you may have been seeing yesterday.

Do you think they should do the the same thing with our new piercing skill (assuming they have finally added it to us properly)? I mean, beating down grey mob after grey mob just to raise this skill isn't really challenging, I would rather be off playing the game.
