Don't see any recent posts about any /bugg or things being done to Sk's on test There was a ton of info coming in when test first started about what happened to are skills /attacks /buffs . but thats about it looking thru the test updates i see there are a ton of Mage updates but the only one i saw for SK was way back on 8-8-2005 and then it was only 1 insidious wisper and it was only to state that it shows the icon now(this was the Beta updatenot the Test )

i am looking thru Paladin Gaurdian .etc etc etc i see a ton of info to much to read it all but there's practically nothing here ; ( have all the Test SK's already re-rolled a diffrent toon on test ? Are any Sk's on Test Givin the Devs some serious info on what is wrong and what needs to be fixed? Are Sk's Perfect and the only thing is an Icon not showing for Insidous wisper?

can we all go back to playing Live becuase Sk's are better than ever? some one on test please throw us some crumbs i understand your tryin to level up there and take in as much as you can . Not all fixes will be posted. SK spells for the combat changes are being adjusted alot. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it isn't happening

i understand that that dont show all the fixes on the updates BUT i am asking if any SK's that play on test are ?bug reporting any problems with SK's and what they are and what needs to be fixed

Yeah things are being /bug and /feedback. The problem is , things are changing around so much every other day it is hard to tell how things will end up. Spells go one way today, then tomorrow will be completely different.

As much as this isn't the answer you wanna hear all the words i can out on this post won't give you the feeling of the new SK even if i list every single aspect of the combat changes. And even if i could like the previous poster said things change every day so if i could transfer the feeling it wouldn't do any good. People who aren't on test/beta only have less than a month left. Let the tester SKs try to do their job by sending thier opinions to /feedback. but if you have a specific question i can ty to answer it. BTW our new bird pet is now a skele.

Thanks Phoz. I know you're doing what you can for all of us. Thanks for letting us know about the pet change. That's been one of my peeves for a long time. Drop us a line when you can if anything really major changes like we can't using swords anymore or something =P

thanks phoz

we understand that test is pretty much like willy wonka's anymore never know whats gion to happen

just concerned that there isnt much info on SK forums compared to other forums

biggest question of is How/What is the diffrence between your Off/Def Stance i would assume if your Defending a group your dps should drop off becuase your so busy pissin the mob off and watching over group

But Offensivly when solo or not MT are Dmg should be IMO just slighty (and i mean very little) under a rogues becuase we hittin mobs with All we got i think a 2handed 80 pound sword would take a huge chunk out of a goblins head as opposed to a rogue slicin at his midsection 3 times with some little pocket knife

sorry ramblin ; )

Question is are Diffrence between off/dev stance Dmg wise would we be needed/useful in a group that has a MT ?? or Solo can we dish out good dmg???

Message Edited by Giralus on 08-20-2005 07:06 PM

I'm on beta not test so i can't say how the people on test are. beta forums do have alot of SKs posting. anyway to answer yuor question about stances.... Most of the time when i'm tanking I'll use the def stance-shield/1H and with the other two con slots i'll use IH (everytime a group member procs its more hate for you) and CC. Thats a gimmie i think to use that lineup its just the best for pure defense if you have a full group cause the dps change in your stances is little compared to what a scout/mage can put out. now soloing (which i tend to do more) is a little more situational. Fighting most whites i'll use a 2 hander with the offensive stance (with UA and CC) i do notice a dps diffrence and i take more damge with the offensive stance on. yea i could use the defensive stance and i take very little damage but the fight is longer. Since our CAs DPS suck (Dreadful Wrath is the same but a 1 minute reuse). So taking more damage with the offensive stance lets me use my power for things like the reactive heal and HOs using the lifetap. If I run into yellows depending on how much higher (52+ can be tough) i'll slap on the defensive or use offensive and shield. I just wanted to add something about pvp cause i just got out of the arena. there is many places casters can hide and most will run from you. Dreadful Wrath is great for the snare effect (but can't be cast while moving). But our pet can be cast while chasing so DW>skele>HT. If DW and HT are up (and harmtouch only has 15 minute resuse) its pretty sweet. Also summoners suck. they can send thier pets after you and hide. yea i can take a pet without much effort but when i do they just cast another and that gets annoying. Hope this answers your question along with giving some insight to others.

As far as stances go:

I used a few different set ups.

Tanking groups of multiple mobs and mobs that mainly melee : Malevolent Circle, Cursed Caress, unholy aura

Tanking Mobs that cast a lot : Malevolent Circle, Unholy aura, and either insatiable hunger or unholy strength (depending on size of nukes)

DPSing : Plague sword, unholy aura, insatiable hunger.

Would also swap around insatiable hunger with unholy str if the mob used AE's or if there wasnt many melee in the group.

There are a lot of different combos we can use depending on the situation, if you are not getting hit much with melee you wont want cursed caress up . If you pull a group of 10 mobs you will definately want cursed caress up. I found myself changing buffs between fights depending on what the next pull looked like. Basically there wont be a best Tanking setup or a DPS setup, it will be more situational. And unless you're taking a lot of spell damage unholy strength seems worse to me then some of the other choices. Just having more HPs wont make a better tank, especially when that buff slot can add some to your utility instead,

so our reactive lifetaps can be cast on ourselves?

Yes they can be cast on ourselves as well as others. As far as i know we are the only class that gets a reactive lifetap? Either way the description says it procs 3 times but mine procs 4. Maybe because i have adept3? hope its not a bug, only 3 procs would be alot worse than our ward 4 procs makes it a little better. I like the reactive lifetap.
