So my guild's fighting the instanced Vox. Doing well, no problems. Easy fight. Next thing you know, the tank loses agro out of nowhere and Vox goes insane and wipes nearly the entire raid. Everyone starts saying "*mt* just fell down immobile. Maybe Vox has a new attack or something. He just collapsed." MT says "I just couldn't move for 10 seconds, it was like I was put to sleep".. I got this sinking feeling.. Sure enough, right next to my pet spell.. is Graven Embrace. Normally not a big deal, never ever hit it before.. but I did that time. As you all know, that will go off on whomever the mob is targeting.. .. which happened to be the MT. I could not apologize enough ;x But hey, good news! GE works on Epic mobs! *thumbsup*

Message Edited by vTenebrae on 07-06-2005 11:30 PM

Yes, it works very very well on Epic Mobs. When I MT raids and some over zealous back poker or over nuker snatches my aggro, I simply put them face down @ss up. Don't mind that it says it will not work on lvl 46 or higher encounters; I have put down people who have got aggro from King Z to Deception Drakotas. It’s a highly useful tool that can save lives of those who like to go "all out" too fast. :smileywink:

I applaud you for taking responsibility. I would have been mortified.

P.S. That rat is not a man, but maybe she likes beer.

Heheh i have done that myself Luckily we didn't wipe though it was King Zalak Ver 1.0. Just told our tank get up you lazy Guardian hehe i hate the fact that it has the same i con as the caress line. They should just put an icon with a player sleeping or a corpse lying on the floor.

What i did to avoid that; was made a bar that was 3x3 on the side of my main 2. Then placed all the nasty spells that can ruin a fight like evac, yell, and GE at the bottom 3 slots. I just moved the bar so those 3 spells are out of my screen. and just move the bar up when i really need to use them. It works for me but i am sure there are other ways to avoid this mishap.

I havent done anything lately in EQ2 but on EQL I was making a major pull once to seperate the Named mob from his guards and having a lazy moment was using the mouse to get my spells off.

Got the Named right where I wanted him and instead of FDing, I dememed FD and had to listen as the guild laughed as I had to stay there and take the death.

Think the worst part of it was the FDed monk we had that was waiting at the spot, was telling me how were are supposed to fake the death, not act it out for real and then he laughed.

Check out Faroth Mal if you ever do Acts of War in Splitpaw. He puts us to shame with his Feign Death.

I usually have Feign Death & Evac disabled during raids unless we're doing a dungeon crawl where FD can actually be useful

FD? Many a happy healer has remained alive due to this spell (during raids)

well i have had a sorta similar experience with fake death, but if anyone saw it they showed merc and didn't laugh out loud...

Decided thatmy tactic of the night would be using my ruin hex doll followed by tainted caress... crippled mobs from the get-go (yay!)

However on my first attempt, I carefully wiggled my hex doll at a lamia thrasher to get things going and (after half-hour of wee flames round my feet) promptly followed it up with Graven Embrace on myself just as she ran up to whack me. Looked like I went down with one hit!

Luckily I managed to cancel it quick enough to pull my Zarn's Deadly Touch on her, and that pretty soon evened things up

I had a SK once tell me I didnt know what I was doing, kept sprouting stuff off about spells he has no clue about.

So I said sit down kid and let the adults run the show, and as he jumped in the air in his hyper antics, I FDed him.

He was [Removed for Content] as hell but embarressed to, but the show ran smoothly after that.
