Just looking for opinions as to which weapon suits an SK the most So far for 2h the *nicest* looking (not most powerful) weapon that I've seen has to be the pristine forged/imbued ebon executioner's axe The best 1h for that pure evil look has to be the Soul Harvester (will try to upload a high-res scan of this after work) Personally I use the Ebon Executioner's Axe, Royal Great Flail and Soul Harvester for when I'm xping / raiding Anyone else got a different opinion?

Speaking of Soul Harvester, a good picture of it can be seen here.

Wow I wish I could get it off broker -- life would be so much easier to buy fabled items if you could only pay platinum for them Actually mine dropped off the Lich in a master chest

I use Cedar imbued club for slashing immune mobs, such as zalak. But my personal fav is the prisinie imbued ebon 2 handed sword. Always been partial to swords. Also carry bloodfire around, This week my guild finishes deception for 20 to 30 of us, and soon ill be sporting a prismatic 2-handed sword, again I just am pesonaly partial to swords.

BTW Soul Harvester looks awesome, but any chance is it SK only?

Message Edited by Exmortis_MT on 06-20-2005 12:05 PM

It's just a sword, our pally and one the guardians have it along with me :smileyvery-happy:

We got one off Aspysixia (sp?), and Lich, and some other mob.

I like the Soul Harvester, looks a litttle SLO (sword like object) but that's ok in a vidio game. The Ebon weps look great, so dose the Goulbane, but it's hanging on the wall these days!

The Soul Harvester is probably best wielded by the Shadowknight class simply because its proc does disease damage over time. The great thing is that as Shadowknights we can debuff a mob against Disease, making this proc more useful Plus it truly is an evil looking sword

I have 3 different weapons based on what the needs of the situation are: Prismatic Greatsword of the Scale - General purpose weapon, dmg, and all the goodies that go along with it. That and it just looks gnarly as hell. If you can find a good 2 handed sword.. get it and keep that slashing skill up. You will get the prismatic someday if you don't have it already, it's nice to be able to wield it effectively.. I just wished it looked less like a rainbow coloured lightsaber . (The BBC is a good 2 handed sword, believe it or not and looks WICKED) Blood Fire - 1 hander, good dmg, good proc.. I just prefer swords, what can I say. I carry Rubecite Kite Shield for shield. I use this on the rare occasions I'm tanking (though, I forgot last night and tanked Arch Lich with my 2 hander.. oops) For freaking evil looking.. it's really nice. Blood red and glows red too.. OH.. Ebon Flamberge is sharp looking for an SK too. Blood red gem in the hilt, evil looking pommel, dangerous looking blade. Royal Great Flail - 2 handed crushing weapon. Good proc, good dmg.. even if a little slow. Always carry a crushing as well as a slashing. Sometimes mobs are immune to slashing dmg. If you can only afford or only have 1 weapon, make it a crusher. I haven't see a mob yet that's immune to crushing. It looks like a giant ball on a chain. Not precisely evil looking, but imposing.. This, obviously, is just an example. I just think it's a good idea to have a solid 2 hander.. a solid one hander.. and a shield. If you're not tanking... make use of that 2 hander! SK do pretty good DPS with them. ESPECIALLY when you factor in the 2 pets. I think I had maxed at.. 180-210dps? (will ask hubby to parse me later) maybe a bit more with both pets out and using prismatic. Not the best, but not bad. If you have a couple of good, solid weapons of slash/crush type.. with good damage ratings, you'll be a happy SK. I mean, come on.. SK always look badass

Message Edited by vTenebrae on 06-21-2005 11:26 AM

wow that is definitely nice -- my only quarrel is it has lower stats but is compensated with a much better proc Where did that item drop?

I have been reading on the Soul Harvester on Ogaming.com to see how to get one and it says it drops of a named mob in RV called Shakey. Has anyone gotten from him? or can confrim if he does or does not drop it.

And after seeing the Darktide I want one of those too =)

Would say it drops from the T'Hean raid-encounter, some of the vampires were wielding swords like this. Looks really cool but I think it isn't worth a multi-hour raid.

Good thread with a good question. Awesome to see everyone showing their toys. To me, asking which weapon is best for a SK is the same as asking What do you wear on a date? All depends on the situation and what you plan on the outcome being , I'm a 50 SK in a awesome raiding guild, my role is MA. Thus I'm leading the DPS so I bring out the whoopin stick, Royal Great Flail, since I won't be in the direct line of fire (behind mob) and I'm usually number 3 or 4 on the aggro list. Therefore if MT goes down I start switching gear (takes about 6 secs, drop GEBS and 2H, for tanking boots, shield, and 1h'er. MC spell up), in case the aggro hits me, I will have my most defensive spells and armor up. Soloing or tanking I use Screaming Mace, regardless of the people who just read the proc and swear you will lose aggro, you don't. Zalaks shield with shield bash (forgot name, late night with no coffee) Master I, Blasphemy Adept III, Insidious Whisper Adept III, Pariah's Mark, plus the buttload of dmg you put onto the hate table. I only lose aggro sometimes to the 50 zerker (zerker...nuff said) and the Brigand (don't know how they do it, but they always get aggro, then they die). So really since we are a Utility, multi purpose class, your flavor is your flavor. 2H or 1H, hell, if you feel froggy, go barefists .. My suggestion is to keep 2 1h's and 2 2h's at all times, soloing and raiding. You never know when aggro will hit you in a raid, and you never know when that one named you think you can solo will spawn while soloing. Hope this has been more helpful than a ramble! Opti

That Darktide sword is badass. I want one.

I use Prismatic Great Sword normally and Royal Great Flail for the slash resistant. Tanking and writ running setup is Screaming Mace and Kite Shield of the King.
