Hey guys, I was wondering what you choose at 46. I am debating btwn the crushing 3% and the innate magic resist by 3%. I am at a guild but we have a couple of berskers /guardians who i am sure will whine more than warriors do in the steel warrior forums in eq1, if I ever mention me tanking something hard. so most prob I will almost never tank anythting uberlicious in raids... but then again I might, who knows. Anyone got the 3% crushing and noticed that it does make a difference ? thx for the input.

Think future with higher level cap.. Go 3% crushing.. You would be tank in groups no matter what for long time.. 3% will be more noticable as our level goes higher and higher well beyond 50.. Lot of mobs use crushing so its good. I chose 3% crushing and liked it so far.

Yep. Dont listen to someone from another class that tells you that you will never do anything. That's the equivalent of picking on a sibling, telling him he's an idiot and will end up doing nothing in his life, then 15 years later he makes quadruple your salary. You have no idea what's in store for SK's in the future and neither do they. I've seen combat changes take on twist then right into another. We may be coming up 4th in the tanking lineup here soon, but to be honest, all I see on /ooc is group trying to take down "X" but need a tank bad. So obviously (depending on your server) there's not an overflowing rush of Guardians Zerkers and Paladins ready to tank for everyone. Even if there is keep this in mind, just because another class CAN POSSIBLY tank better than you does not mean that you cannot tank. Your day will come. Last night for instance we we're taking on an epic and I had a Zerker same level. I gave him Calculated Evasion and Grant of Armament without thinking, he went through one fight before it and said, Kaz is main tank, he holds aggro way better against multiple targets. This guy is a really good zerker too. The SK's best attribute imo has always been versatility and to be honest, I wouldn't want better tanking ability to give that up.

Yes Zoradan. I'm the same Noc. I play Noc in EQ1 (Roleplayed as grandfather Noc) maybe 10% of the time just to keep with EQ1 lores since when EQ2 got out. Now I'm 50 (grandson version) in EQ2 so I play little more often in EQ1. It's fun to play BOTH games everyday so I can keep up with both lores. Station Access feature is a GODSEND! My kids get to play SWG at no add'tl monthly cost. Love the access.

One biggest advantage to play both games is that whatever you feel mood to play certain features, pick either. Both are different games but they both offer equally enterainment tho. I like EQ1 SK alot cuz its 6 years worth of AA/exp/spells/quests/etc. I just play SK in EQ2 just to be prepared that it might get more interesting and fascinating in 6 years later but I do like SK EQ2 alot as well. Just different. Also, I wanted to enjoy the feeling of "newbie" all over again that EQ2 can offer. It was so fun to play as a newbie without any twinks, etc. IT was great last November to re-learn everything and the simple no stat armor was so thrilling all over again. Quests in EQ2 just owns. Far far better than EQ1 during its launch so go on.

Also, I felt that I wouldn't be a TRUE Shadowknight if I only play ONE game instead of both games. I would feel HALF-arsed SK by sticking to one single game. Playing EQ1 and EQ2 SK class helps to broaden my experience and investment in same class. SK class is what I'm born to 6 years ago. Heck, I always wanted to play evil version of paladin long time before EQ1 came out. Fallen paladin in D&D is not a SK at all cuz its just stripped of paladin's power leaving it like a warrior. Nothing more. SK for EQ1 was warrior+necro that really made me happy and wanted to try it out but its NOT a real evil version of paladin cuz the opposite of paladin is actually a zealous crusader of the evil god praying to god for diety etc. That's where SK in EQ2 came in. SK in EQ2 is a TRUE evil version of paladin not a warrior+necro at all. Problem of EQ2 crusaders is that there are no GODS for them to draw power from via prayers. That's where the fatal flaw of EQ2 for those type of classes. Without gods, crusaders are basically just warriors without holy or unholy powers. It's something that I have to live with.. Read my magelo in EQ1 if you wanted to know the Noc's history. EQ2 Nocifer basically carrying Innoruuk's essence and its his crusade to bring Innoruuk back into existence and rule over Norrath once again via the hatred. IN some way, Nocifer as Shadowknight STILL carry unholy power that was drawn from inner being tapping Innoruuk's essence. That way I roleplay around the SOE's flaw in the lore for the crusaders.

Message Edited by Nocifer Deathblade on 06-21-2005 06:41 AM
