im a lvl 26 SK and i can solo pretty good, hardly any downtime except the dreaded always or almost out of power <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> "the lifeof the sk i love it" , i get groups very good only because people know i can tank very very good and im very fast paced , and dont stand around with a thumb up my [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] after every kill like guardians do . hehe over all SK's are pretty good i dont know what people are complaining about.

<P>back to the subject, only group problem i've run into is the lack of good taunts, we have some ok taunts but when a caster lands some semi-uber nuke, or a good group heal, the aggro meter swings wide to them and i gotta hit the thing with like 6 taunts to get it back, you can use rescue in a pinch but the reuse timer is rediculous. </P> <P>as a soloer, SK's rock, they have good balance of damge nukes, and buffs, and weak heals but they keep you up in a long fight. i like that i can outlast many of the caster mobs to their power, than i can just melee the rest of the way, at our mitigation levels with non epic gear, caster types have close to no chance of hitting, especially with lucan pact or knights stance on, anyways, group tank, i only saw the one issue with taunts, as a solo, with some epic gear some day, i think i can pull off blue heroics, can already solo heroic greens, with some trouble, but thats a undercon issue i think on some mobs i've encountered.</P> <P> </P> <P>:smileyvery-happy:</P>

My shadowknight rocks! I have a lot of fun playing him. I've played several of the other characters and kept starting over with new characters. Now I have a shadowknight and I'm keeping him. I can solo moderately well, although I hate running out of power. In a group I have tanked and been fine. I really enjoy when someone else is tanking though and I can whip out a 2H weapon to up my dps and kick even more [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]! <div></div>

<DIV>To comment on the taunt section, I believe the general consensus is that it's easy to hold aggro, but [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] hard to get it back. That's quoting someone elses post that I can't remember, but totally agree with. Other than that, SK's are in decent shape.</DIV>

<DIV>Where this is really an issue is the new Nek 2.0.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I find that our lack of taunt choices leave us using a ton of power to regain aggro.  For those that have not been there, the mobs have an aggro bug.  In a multi-mob encounter the mobs have a chance to reset aggro after another dies,  This has the effect of costing you tons of power to regain it, thus leaving you utterly powerless to hold it when your down to the last mob or 2.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Due to this zones lesson, I am now on the ruby hunt and upgrading every taunting ability to Adept 3.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But our lack of taunt choices does hurt, you cant have all in a state of reset, and awaiting to them when you realyl need it.  Also I know guardians are the best tank, I have no issue with that, but I still think Sks should have a wider more utilitarian aggro set.  By our very nature almost every attack shoudl have a threat assigned to it, or at least pariahs mark be greater then 50 at adept 1.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Sks like most tank types solo well (single person encounters yellow shouldnt be too hard) and blue and green group mobs that do no cast are well within your capacity of killing if you dont mind waiting forever to kill them.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Groups is another thing entirely, the sk is not viewed as bringing alot to the group other then someone with a high defense and mitigation skill (currently after leveling my sk to 50 i am playing a bard, and the differances between lfg for the two of them is huge, as a 23 bard for example i bring 35 agil 20 str and sta 11 int, 15% haste, 16% out of combat run speed, 100 to all spell resists, 6 power and hp regen per tick. But that is kind of the bards selling point, but in contrast a level 50 SK as a main tank brings 11 to piercing slashing crushing 300 disease resist.. one whole group buff spell, as an off tank (so we are talking specialized) you can give 25 str sta agil to 3 people and approx 400 ac... not pretty, not pretty at all. (But is suspect calculated evasion is not working entirely as it is described in the spell text so perhaps that might change). And thats LEVEL 50. So you wont be the most highly sought after person in the world.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So of all the 6 plate tanks you bring the least to the table (although Im thinking a monk/sk duo with calculated could do some fairly impressive things.. assuming it works), as far as offering to the group. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On a raid scale you again bring very limited things to the table, the class isnt 'useless' and in the hands of a skilled person you can actually make a serious impact, but their is no encounter that makes a guild leader think, '[expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] we really need to recruit us some sks'.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>jus sayin</DIV>
