<DIV>As is one of my favorite things to do is go back thru my spell book and find usfule spells that I have long forgoten, like an extra taunt that actualy works on raid mobs...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My last go around was looking for taunts that stacked, didnt find many :smileysad: but did find one, not a great taunt but it woks on epic mobs (curses the derv who made our sheild bash line not even cast on epic mobs), any wya, I found/rembered Rescue.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now back in Jan-Feb this spell never did squat, they ever fix it?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>LOL dam how dose it even work? If I'm tanking and lose agro to a healer in the first set of taunts, do I just hit Rescue while on the mob and it adds 500 hate and ups me one on the hate list, or do I have to target my group mate then hit it?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Gona play around with this and another spell some and get back to you all.</DIV>

You target the mob and whack him with Rescue. It will bump you <i>up one spot on the aggro list, </i>not put you first, and add a little taunt to it. This means if you aren't second on the list, it has a chance of being a total waste. Now, someone the other day got a Master I of it, and to me at level 46, the only bonus it had over an App II was 50 more points of taunt. You figure a spell with such a long recast would have more benefit to upgrading. <div></div>
Upgraded from Adept I to Adept III a week ago and it added a whooping +13 on threat. But I think it still helps, 1 position up in the hate list is still 1 position up and that will make you get agro back faster.

<P>saw this thread and wanted to ask a question or 2 about this skill</P> <P>1, if you are at the top already, what will this do?</P> <P>2. when you are rating aggro, you have a score, guy with the highest gets the slap fest, now, my question is, will this give you the points to go to the next spot. i'm pretty sure it does and if so, does it add the bonus that much more over that or is it the bonus or what is needed to get you to the next spot?</P> <P>3. are there any taunts that are effectively better than this one, or does this give you the best up front taunt there is?(i really doubt it, gotta be something better)</P> <P> </P>

<P>Thanks for the info guys.</P> <P>Looks like it dosn't "work" ie it dose not put you one up on the hate list (at least not regulary). But it dose add hate, wich it wasnt doing or the discrition didn't say so back in Dec. It's on my raid taunt bar now.</P> <P>I did mess with it last night on Lorg Naglik (sp?), He bounced to one of the healers, I hit rescue as well as 3 other taunts did not get the agro (did not suprise me) but when the healer dropped Lord came to me, go figure.</P>

<DIV>The range on it is a bit odd. I noticed I either have to be breathing down the targets neck, or directly in between the mob and the group member it's attacking. Can anyone confirm that is working as it's intended. I actually find it useful when I lose aggro on one mob and need it back fast, but the readjusting gets annoying after a while. If I try and use it on the side or normal cobat distance it won't fire off. If I stand in bewtween, fine. If I jump literally on the exact space it's standing it will work as well.</DIV>

<P>I never understood why this spell has a bleeping 30 min recast. Mind you, not say it should be 30 secs .... but 30 mins is way to much IMHO. I've cast it on a mob right after our warlock got aggro and the dang thing didn't even work. Totally disappointed in this spell.</P> <P>V/R</P> <P>Blackoath 36th Troll Shadow Knight</P>

<DIV>Rescue works well if you know how and when to use it. It only works and gets you aggro if you are #2 on the hate list. If not, you will move up a spot on the hate list, but you won't notice a change (ie: getting back aggro). It works best in groups when you have aggro and suddenly lose it. If you use Rescue quickly you will get aggro right back. The longer you wait tho, the less likely you will get it back. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For example:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- You are in an xp group.</DIV> <DIV>- Wizard nukes too hard and gains aggro</DIV> <DIV>- You keep trying to taunt unsuccessfully because Wizzy generated more hate than you thought.</DIV> <DIV>- Meanwhile, a healer is healing his [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] off trying to keep Wizzy alive.</DIV> <DIV>- Healer moves to #2 on mob's hate list.</DIV> <DIV>- Or another fighter in group taunts his way to #2 on the hate list.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You can see where I am going with this. As long as you Rescue quick enough, you will get aggro right back. The number you see when you examine is a bonus to go on top of you moving up a spot. If a Wizard has 238,488 points of hate. Rescue moves you to 239,489 points of hate. Add that number to your total and you are basically getting some bonus hate to keep you on top by a little.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was tanking Drayek and about half way through the fight our Warlock gets aggro. As soon as I saw Drayek start turning I hit Rescue, Drayek landed 1 attack on the Warlock and came right back to me. (no the Warlock didn't die)</DIV>
<DIV>Rescue much like harm touch is an iffy propisition at best, if you are in a dire situation you can hit the button and hope it works (usually i hit them in succession) dont really want to think about how often both fail....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Rescues real use is if you are 2ndary or offtank and have the maintank die to sudden nuking or go ld and you are charged with moving up to tank afterwards, so with any luck rescue then harmtouch you may or may not be there, usually not but what the hell.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Still tho there is no reason for rescue to be on a 30 min timer meaning it is a pretty much a raid tool, (just like our evac shouldnt be on a 30 min timer, wheres my upgrades durn it!) bump it to 5 and let it be useful for regular pick up groups</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
