<DIV>Screaming mace or some imbued ebon 1-hander?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know there are better weapons than those, but I'm not raiding so I don't have access to anything better than the above mentioned. If you know of a better 1-hander that is obtainable without a larger raid force, please let me know.</DIV>

*laughs* You know, I see NUMEROUS people out there who use the Screaming Mace while tanking. The argument from most is the ratio in which you get your power regen is worth the risk of losing your aggro which is the built in componet of this weapon. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I for one would NEVER use it due to the fact that its hard enough for us to maintain aggro off some players (i.e. Zerker, Wizards, Warlocks) but if you think the power regen is something you REALLY wanna have...is it worth killing others in your group for using it?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Go with the imbued ebon imo.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Shalori on <span class=date_text>06-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:45 AM</span>

<P>Thank you for your reply. The argument I've heard regarding tanking with Screaming Mace, is that the aggro created by the proc is equal to or greater than the hate reduction it generates.</P> <P>But the proc from the imbued weapon will most likely generate some hate too.</P>
<DIV>Tanking using the screaming mace is fine, Ive seen it used on x4 raid mobs, it has a number of things working for it, and the 5% rate on the proc isnt high even to even negate the melee damage it generates, let alone all the extra spells you will get to use with that bonus power. The proc rate on a slow swinger (2.3) compared to your tier 5 whisper (700ish aggro + damage) should more then cancel. It might negate your pull spell (dreadful wrath) if it procs early but if you whisper sweet nothings in their ear you will own them. The aggro reduction is so slight that if you lose aggro using it you would most likely lose aggro using the ebon.... jus sayin.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you are that worried about aggro id recommend getting a widdershins for crushing procs malisement or some such thing, still carry it around in my weapons satchel even tho it doesnt see much use.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There are some fine weapons with procs that drop off asphxia and the x2 group mob in pf (the one that spawns at the table some kinda crystal butterfly dealie)... but yer still talking a 9-12 man raid force to do it.</DIV>

<P>Back to the topic;</P> <P>Your NOT (tho I'm sure they apreciate the advice guys) asking abought FABLED loot.</P> <P>I would say the Screaming Mace is a better wepon than the Ebon, but it's a pita to get, I havn't finnished mine, will bother to some time just to do it.</P> <P>I would get the Ebon one hander to get a wepon. My advice would be to get a Morningstar, your first raid will probly be the CL instance and the King is Slash immune (or resistant), I bought a Ebon Longsword and had to turn around and get a blunt to go along with it. :smileymad:</P> <P>That said if you think you can get the Screaming Mace soon, then get a two hand slash to go along with it for when your not tanking, the Ebon 2 hand stuff is pritty cool.</P>

<DIV>The main tank in my guild uses this weapon and he almost never looses aggro.. and if he does its most likely not from the mace.</DIV>

I've used a variation of many one handers while tanking. I don't really like using the screaming mace due to the fact if you lose the aggro once and in the wrong postion or place, your screwed. I have a pristine imbued ebon long sword and i use that most of the time. I also see what other tanks are using and alot are using the blood fire, or i think it's called that. It's one of the four choices you get when you finish the heart of fear access in CT, you don't need the raiding force to finish it, you just need a solid group. It's a sword that has decent stats and i believe 11 stamina, which tanks love. Hope that helps

<P>Hi again.. Just wanted to chime in and say that yesterday I got my screaming mace. I still haven't found an ebon, but when I do I'll follow the advice and make it into a twohand slasher.</P> <P>I also asked some of the other tanks I met, that also used screaming mace. They seemed to agree that the mace doesn't deaggro because the proc itself is a taunt, so the effect merely balances aggro.</P> <DIV>Again, I appreciate all your input (even the fabled ones, even though I can't get it yet). Thanks.</DIV>
