HI all excuse my grammer >< Ok the deal is i have a 44 ranger but need a change of scenery, with that said i made a crusader hes 18 now but getting down, the exp seems to drag on and on and on. I never remeber my ranger taking this long to lvl (he lvled before vitality) . Im thinking is it the extra solo content ,that leads to the lack of grps in the lower lvls can any one give me some encourgment i really wanna be a sk but bleh killing orc after orc after orc and a hour later i got a yellow. well goin back to killing maybe ill be 19 by the morning :smileysad:

I did them in about 14 hours (not in a row, obviously). I did quests, collection quests, grouped in Fallen Gate and in Thundering Steppes. It flew by. However, you're right population has fallen off dramatically and there are less groups to be had.

Ok since you said orc I'm assuming your in Freeport. At 18 I was nowhere near orcs anymore, there are other things suchs as the vulrichs over by the dervishes that give same xp rate and you kill them at least 3 times faster. There are also Dervishes around that area that aren't grouped and don't put up much of a fight. Also try by the Nektulos Forest griffon tower for the skeletons, if you have skeleton masters rage it's even easier. If you must still do orcs check out the grouped ones by the base of the river near the Hidden Canyon station. There's heroics there too and as a crusader around that level I found myself soloing those on more than one occasion. xp really didnt stop flowing for me (SK) until I hit around 25 or so. Then it started to get tricky but you definitely have other options, I'm not sure if your completely familiar with the surrounding area (since I've never been to Qeynos I assume you never really took leisure trip to Freeport either). The honest best route though since you're tanking now is low level heroic encounters. They usually aren't hard at that level green or low blue and give more than several equal solo mobs. If that's not working try solo yellow, I never had problems taking on yellows or oranges until I hit up FG and Nek.

SK's, even in EQ1 have been XP hogs, not really sure why, i hope some day they'll fix it but i doubt it. also it is harder to solo the higher level mobs as a SK. so this slows the XP flow even more. all you can hope for is good resists, high HP, Really good armor for the high avoidance, and alot of luck.

as for what to hunt, try the non heroic group mobs, any will do. they not only seem to give good xp each, but you get the heroic bonus xp for a non heroic mob.

Nek forest - cackling cadavers & bears - good solo that lv, can get you more pricey vendor junk to sell than commonlands, some solo quests here and some early ones close to the zoneline you can do to brige exp, with some player made drink solo you will be beating these fights so smoothly it will seem quite good.

Thundering steps - if you fancy something green, thinks like scarecrows/skeletons up close to the antonica gate, crabs might be in level range to, the centar quests from the watcher of the fields was pretty fun when you start into the twentys.

Fallengate - now has some solo content you could hunt though it's prob better to save until 20 so you dont get to sick of it, can get a few quests here to bridge the exp to.

Serpent sewer - since you are going to be doing the class quest, maybe grab a mate and fight some stuff down there, bit to rough solo imho, also good to figure out where to go for the storage room etc, i loved edgewater for some of my other chars at 20 though it was with a 4 man group of around the same lv)

Stormhold - again, going to have more fun in a group but can be fun and can hunt upt high 20's deeper down by the goblins, so always a spot to visit if you can grab a mate to come along.

Commonlands - skeletons near the ruins which you will start hunting soon for other reasons, though you might be sick of them, like Kaz said - tons of vulrich up there, quite frankly i found Vulrich creepy the way they only attacked me when i was in the direst of trouble.

Braellar
