View Full Version : Full Encounter taunts...needs a change? just curious why it is the way it is.

<DIV>I was talking to a guardian guildy of mine about taunts last night. It came up while in the middle of a fight. I dreadful wrath to pull a group...start a HO..spell...then shout to complete the HO with a encounter shout...I am normally good for agro for the rest of the fight. Occationally someone will buff late...or cast something just as i'm about to pull..and before i shout. They pull agro and my shout either is out of range when it goes off or it hits half the group. </DIV> <DIV> Currently My Blasphemy spell...(50 shout) has a recast timer of 30seconds...a whole 30 seconds where I can't shout again. True I have a group buff that pulls a small amount of agro...and some aoes that do nice DD....but aoes are only good in safe spots(and don't always pull agro back). </DIV> <DIV> I was curious why is our shout a 30 second recast timer? Why not 15 or even 10. What would be the harm in being able to shout more often with the threat lvl it currently has? Is it that It would take away too much of the chance or danger in fights? Too easy to keep agro? I'm not saying I always have trouble with this...just bad timing sometimes lol...where I could benifit from another shout within 0-29 seconds <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />...How about allowing the earlier shouts to not be on the same spell line? The DoD, and shout line not reset each other...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What do yall think?</DIV>

We would have no reason to be excited or alert. we could play the game with one hand tied behind our back. there would be no risk in fights. plus I couldnt scorn that nuke happy mage for going crazy. I kinda like it when they go overboard and then end up getting the crap beat out of them till they are living off an inch of their life, and then you suddenly pull the aggro off them when they are at 3% of there health, only to say at the end of the fight "opps went nuke happy,sorry guys" haha, your dang right you went nuke happy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>anyways I see your point and at the same time I see what soe intended for us.</DIV>

<P>I believe it's 30 seconds due to the rate groups kill mobs, mainly more than one mob in an encounter - if you cast one shout per mob by the time you reach the last one you already have had significant agro on it, lowering the recast time would give you even more solid agro, while at 30 seconds there are still times you can have mobs peel or use it and wish you had saved it, adds a bit of challenge that is needed imho.</P> <P> </P> <P>Braellar</P>
<DIV>Shout is on a 30 second timer because thats what they determined was fair for ALL warrior AE taunts, the problem is that other classes get more group buffs which also act as taunts (aggro of spell X number of people in group) in essence giving them more AE taunts then we get.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Jus' sayin'</DIV>
